A celebration of life service for Barbara Carla Meagher, 78, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 4:00 p.m., Tuesday, September 11, 2018, at her home located at 221 Hynes Street, West Plains, Missouri.
Mrs. Meagher passed away at 1:16 p.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at her home.
She was born July 21, 1940, at Memphis, Tennessee, to L. R. Bledsoe and Hazel Mae Wilkes Bledsoe. On May 13, 1985, she was married in the State of Arkansas, to Walter “Wally” Meagher, who preceded her in death on March 10, 2010. Mrs. Meagher enjoyed volunteering in her community; she loved people and would help anyone in any way that she could. She also loved animals. Mrs. Meagher was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by six children; one son-in-law; one daughter-in-law; twelve grandchildren; thirty plus great-grandchildren; and two nieces.
Her parents, husband, one sister and one brother, preceded her in death.

Mr. Acklin passed away at 8:26 a.m., Wednesday, August 15, 2018 at Cox Medical Center South, Springfield, Missouri.
He was born February 18, 1931, at West Plains, Missouri, to Robert Fulton Acklin and Oma Coble Acklin. On May 9, 1950, he was married at Salem, Arkansas, to Alice Alzira Brotherton, who preceded him in death January 2, 1987. In 1995, he was married to Georgia E. Whitsell Kickel, who preceded him in death on August 10, 2018. Mr. Acklin was a veteran; he was drafted in 1955 and served with the United States Army during the Korean Conflict. He worked at West Plains Coca-Cola Bottling Company for thirty-three years, having retired as fleet manager. Mr. Acklin was a member of a group that originated the Emergency Response System in South Central Missouri and North Central Arkansas, was a member of Weather Watchers in South Central Missouri and North Central Arkansas and was a member of the Sheriff Reserve for a number of years. Don also delivered the Springfield News-Leader for thirty-one years in Southern Missouri and Northern Arkansas and also worked at Wal-Mart for many years; his favorite position was being Santa Clause for the children. Most of all he loved people and his family remembers that there was never a closed door; it was open to friends and strangers alike. Mr. Acklin loved his family and went to the river every weekend with them.
He is survived by six children, Donnie Acklin and wife, Lynda, Terry Acklin and wife, Diana, Larry Acklin and wife, Karen, Craig Acklin, Pam Freeman and husband, Ted and Ann Acklin and significant other, Kerry Vehawn; several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert Acklin and Ronald Acklin and wife, Marsha; one sister, Helen Stanley and husband, Dick; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, step-mother, Marie Acklin, wives, one son, Mike Acklin, one brother, Danny Acklin and two sisters, Judy Acklin and June Johnston, preceded him in death.

Mrs. Acklin passed away at 6:30 p.m., Friday, August 10, 2018 at her home.
She was born January 1, 1930, in Lawrence County, Arkansas, to Gardner Houston Whitsell and Jessie Florence Little Whitsell. In 1943 the family moved to West Plains. Georgia graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1947. After graduating, she started working at the First National Bank of West Plains and continued with a banking career from 1947 – 2016. In 1952, she was married to Robert Click; after 16 years that marriage ended in divorce. On May 9, 1967, she was married in St. Louis County, Missouri, to Arnold Martin Kickel, who preceded her in death on December 22, 1990. In 1995, she was married to Don Acklin. Georgia really had a passion for serving and being with people. She was of the Baptist faith since childhood, with her membership currently at Providence Baptist Church.
She is survived by her husband, Don Acklin; four step-sons, Donnie Acklin, and wife, Lynda, Terry Acklin and wife, Diana, Larry Acklin and wife, Karen and Craig Acklin; two step-daughters, Pam Freeman and husband, Ted and Ann Acklin and significant other, Kerry Vehawn; several step-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one brother, Raymond Whitsell, three sisters, Reva Blackshear, Louise Bushong and Eva Featherston and their spouses and one step-son, Michael Acklin, preceded her in death.

He was born December 5, 1958, at West Plains, Missouri, to Hamey Vernon Coble and Ama Lou Mayfield Coble. On March 15, 2001, he was married at Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, to Laura Coble. Mr. Coble worked as a truck driver and enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his family. He was of the Baptist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Laura Coble; one daughter, Samantha Lynn Coble; three step-sons, David Cox, Matthew Cox and Joseph Crisci; one grandchild, Collin Imhoff; many step-grandchildren; his mother, Ama Coble; two brothers, James Coble and wife, Teresa and Ray Coble and wife, Jenny; and one sister, Freda Dennis and husband, Brian.
His father, one son, Vernon Shane Coble, one sister, Ruby Stuteville and one brother, Terry Coble, preceded him in death.

Bobbie Ray Reid, 81, West Plains, Missouri, passed away Friday, August 10, 2018 at his home.
He was born October 16, 1936, at Hocomo, Missouri, to Russell R. Reid and Ruth E. O’Dell Reid. Mr. Reid was a veteran, having served with the United States Army and was a retired Fire Chief with the City of Independence. He was a member of the Retired Firefighters (IAFF) and the Elks lodge. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and golf.
He is survived by his daughter, Terrie Ann Reid, Cleveland, Oklahoma; three grandchildren, Lindsey McCallister and husband, David, Ozark, Missouri, Kody Devall, West Plains, Missouri and Kayla Maholy and husband, Brent, Virginia Beach, Virginia; five great-grandchildren, Peyton, Piper, Maddox, Phenex and Mykah; and one brother, Terry R. Reid and wife, Diane, Nixa, Missouri.
His parents, one sister, Patricia Brooks and one brother, James O. Reid, preceded him in death.

Nathan, known to many as Patrick, was born October 29, 1961, at Fort Lee, Virginia, to Bill and Heidi Smith. He was the second child of six in his family and was known for taking care of his siblings. At age seventeen, he married Helen Cobb; four children were born from this union. The couple would have been married forty years this November. Mr. Smith served in the United States Army National Guard through multiple deployments; he retired from the military after more than twenty-six years of service. Mr. Smith worked as a Medical Lab Technician at Cox Medical Center, Branson, Missouri. He enjoyed hunting, joking with friends and watching old westerns, especially those featuring John Wayne.
He leaves behind his wife, Helen; four children, Elizabeth VanHaaren and husband, Bob, Suzanne Bloomer and husband, Benjamin, Nathan Smith II and Angela Sullivan and husband, Jade; six grandchildren, Autumn, Abigail, Jocelynn, Samuel, Isaac and Tracy; his siblings, Ava, Bobby, Sharon, Karmen and Terry; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
His parents and one grandson, Jeremiah preceded him in death.

Mrs. Falck passed away Friday, August 3, 2018 at The Groves, Independence, Missouri, surrounded by her family.
She was born March 2, 1938 at Ionia, Michigan, the daughter of the late Devillo Arthur Helmer and Gladys Myrtle Green Helmer. As a small child her family moved to the state of California. She received her education in Los Angeles, California graduating high school with the class of 1955. On September 2, 1955, she was married at Los Angeles, California, to Ronald Dennis Falck. June made her home in Carpinteria, California for several years, before moving to West Plains, Missouri in 1973. She was employed at West Plains Wal-Mart and later Missouri Home Care. June was a devout Christian, always active in her church. She was also a devoted and loving mother and grandmother. She said that her family was her “most valuable gifts from God.” Mrs. Falck was longtime member of the Faith Assembly of God Church in West Plains, Missouri. After moving to Independence, Missouri area, she was a member and faithfully attended the Calvary Assembly of God Church, Kansas City, Missouri, as long as her health permitted.

On May 30, 1946, she was married to Hugh Story, who preceded her in death August 10, 1991. On October 2, 1992, she was married to Ang Williams, who preceded her in death January 28, 2005. Mrs. Williams had worked as a bookkeeper at Richard’s Brothers and Fariview School. She was an artist and enjoyed crafts, making cards, quilting and sewing. Mrs. Williams was a member of Gospel Hill Church of Christ.
She is survived by one daughter, Jan Dennis and husband, Randall, West Plains, Missouri, four grandchildren, Freddy Spencer and wife, Jessica, Columbia, Missouri, Darla Spencer, Hardy, Arkansas, Susan Howard and husband, Ronnie Jr., Dora, Missouri and Daniel Dennis and wife, Joanna, West Plains, Missouri; seven great-grandchildren, Emma Spencer, Paxton Spencer, Morgan Murrill, Madison Murrill, Spencer Howard, Cooper Howard and Jacob Lee Dennis; two great-great-grandchildren; one son-in-law, Bobby Spencer, West Plains, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born February 10, 1961, at West Plains, Missouri, to Clarence Byron Hall and Mary June Gentry Hall. David graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1979 and achieved a Master’s Degree in Music from ASU. On June 14, 1986, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Terri Ellen Bragg, who preceded him in death on December 20, 2012. Mr. Hall was a music teacher for West Plains R-7 School District for thirty-four years. He enjoyed reading, cooking for others, community theatre, gardening and spending time with his family. He was also involved with the MSU Community College Choir and was the Choir Director at First United Methodist Church for the past twenty-two years.
He is survived by two sons, Jordan Scott Hall and Clayton David Hall, both of West Plains; two sisters, Reba Jo Wright and husband, Michael, Kingsland, Georgia and Sandra Foster, West Plains; two sisters-in-law, Pamela Johnson and husband, Ronald and Kathrine Paschall and husband, Donald, all of West Plains; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born August 14, 1940, at Gamaliel, Arkansas, to Argol Meeks and Cuba Davidson Meeks. On April 9, 1966, he was married at Gamaliel, Arkansas, to June Helen Goodwin, who preceded him in death on April 24, 2004. Mr. Meeks was a veteran, having served with the United States Army. He worked as a carpenter and was a dairy farmer. He loved his family, church family and enjoyed traveling and visiting with whoever would listen. Mr. Meeks was a member of Gamaliel Church of Christ for seventy-seven years.
He is survived by four children, Tommy Meeks, II and wife, Tiffany, Strafford, Missouri, Sherri Turner and husband, Mark, Greenbrier, Arkansas, Robert Meeks and wife, Karen, Caulfield, Missouri and Matt Meeks and wife, Christy, West Plains, Missouri; fifteen grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; one sister, Argie Heinrich, Mountain Home, Arkansas; and a special friend, Velma Strong.

Diane earned a diploma in Early Childhood Development from Missouri State University and was a manager at West Plains Head Start. Mrs. Henson was a Christian.
She is survived by her husband, Floyd Henson, of the family home; three children, Jeannie Crownover and husband, James, West Plains, Missouri, Ricky Allen Henson and wife, Tessa, Alton, Missouri, and Christopher Henson and wife, Becca, St. Charles, Missouri; eleven grandchildren, Gavin, Sophia, Drew, Christina, Alyssa, Kendra Jo, Jaycelyn, Maveric, Caden, Tate and Luca; and one brother, Robert Snyder, Jr., Manford, Oklahoma.

She was born October 5, 1920, at Pottersville, Missouri, to Zenephan Hickman “Hick” Callahan and Bertha Elvada Fox Callahan. On September 21, 1938, she was married at Crider, Missouri, to Lloyd T. Wilson, who preceded her in death on March 23, 1968. Mrs. Wilson had worked at Sharp’s Café and was a volunteer at the West Plains Senior Center. She loved to garden and raise flowers. Family was very important to Lorene; she was proud to help raise her daughter Patsy’s children. She made sure when someone knocked on her door that they had a meal. Mrs. Wilson was a Christian and had attended Church of Christ.
She is survived by six children, Betty Perkins and husband, Donnie, Koshkonong, Missouri, Sue Hicks, West Plains, Tom Wilson and wife, Connie, Springfield, Missouri, Judy Palmer, Marshfield, Missouri, Laverne Wilson, West Plains and Larry “PeeWee” Wilson, West Plains; seventeen grandchildren; thirty-nine great-grandchildren; fifty great-great-grandchildren; two brothers, Lewis L. Callahan and wife, Sharon, West Plains and Mickey Callahan and wife, Lois, Crider, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

He was born January 24, 1932, at Phoenix, Arizona, to Albert Clarence Bumpus and Auderine Susan May Comer Bumpus. Mr. Bumpus was a veteran, having served with the United States Army National Guard.
He is survived by six children, Lisa Meridieth and husband, Billy, State of Missouri, Vicki Farnsworth, State of Oklahoma, Bret Bumpus, State of Arizona, Frank Bumpus, and wife, Mirtha, State of California, Michael Bumpus and wife, Monica, State of North Dakota and Tomi Navarro, State of Arizona; thirteen grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild and one on the way.

Mrs. Callahan died 4:30 p.m., Friday, July 27, 2018 at NHC HealthCare. She was born February 9, 1935 at Koshkonong, Missouri to Alonzo Judd and Ruby Morgan Judd. On January 10,1953, she was married at Salem, Arkansas to Ermal Abbott Callahan who preceded her in death on August 2, 2004. Mrs. Callahan loved to attend garage sales and go to thrift stores. She was of the Pentecostal faith.
She is survived by two children, Verna Williams and husband, Jim and Don Callahan; three grandchildren, Alonzo Williams and wife, Melanie, Charlotte VanEman and husband, Rob and Esta Shelton and husband, Roger; four great grandchildren, Lee VanEman, Dylan Shelton, Alexus Shelton and Wyatt Shelton; one great-great-granddaughter, Emery Shelton; one sister, Mayloa Miller; and many nieces and nephews.

He graduated from West Plains High School in 1945; his father accepted his diploma on his behalf as Raymond was already proudly serving his country with the United States Army. When WWII ended, he was stationed in the Philippines. Raymond besides being a veteran was a patriot and he instilled in his children how the right to vote was so important and to cast their ballot at every opportunity. He stated after that “your vote counts just as much as the richest person in this country.” His work included the International Shoe Company, a driver for Foremost Dairy, Cloud Oak Flooring and fuel delivery for Ozarko Oil; he also worked as a checkout clerk at the Cash Saver market until he was eighty-three. Mr. Lindeman was a member of the Immanuel Lutheran Church. On October 4, 1947, he was married to Evelyn Youngblood and to this union two children were born, Larry and Donna. Mr. Lindeman was also married to Helen Mallory who preceded him in death. He enjoyed family gatherings, bowling, fishing (even though he wasn’t very good at it) and his favorite card game was pitch; he also enjoyed playing skipbo with his friend, Rose.
He is survived by two children, Larry Lindeman and Donna Cooper and husband, Hal, all of West Plains; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Norma Lou Martin and husband, Al, Plano, Texas; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, wife, three brothers, Paul, Lawrence and Kenneth Lindeman and one sister, Laverna North, preceded him in death.
The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff, doctors and nurses at Ozarks Medical Center, West Vue Nursing Center and Christy Mitchell for their care. Mr. Lindeman will lie in state from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m., Monday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Mrs. Palmer passed away at 8:37 p.m., Wednesday, July 25, 2018 at her home.
She was born December 4, 1939, at Chicago, Illinois, to Kenneth Casper Faust and Marion Rosenquist Faust. On June 2, 1956, she was married at Wilmington, Illinois, to Herbert “Pedro” Palmer. Mrs. Palmer was an exceptional homemaker and mother; she enjoyed quilting, loved farming, taking care of others and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Palmer was a member of Shilo Baptist Church, Rover, Missouri.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-two years, Herbert “Pedro” Palmer; six children, Fred Palmer and wife, Suzanne, Herb Palmer, Danny Palmer and wife, Lisa, Jessie Palmer and wife, Bobbi, all of Rover, Missouri, Anthony “Tige” Palmer and wife, Melissa and Loretta Palmer and fiancée Patric Roberts, all of West Plains; twenty grandchildren; thirty-three great-grandchildren; four brothers, Kenneth, Nicholas, Warren and Jim; seven sisters, Pat, Beth, Judy, Lynne, Bunny, Ellen and Linda; one sister-in-law, Nellie Whirrell; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, one brother, Chuck, one grandson, Greg and one granddaughter, Jacqueline, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Little passed away at 8:06 p.m., Friday, July 20, 2018 at Shepherd of the Hills Living Center.
She was born April 12, 1933, at West Plains, Missouri, to Charley Myers and Christina Lung Myers. Peggy graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1950. On March 9, 1953, she was married at Salem, Arkansas, to Mahlon Little. Mrs. Little had worked as Assistant Collector and Secretary to John Kirk, Howell County Collector for a number of years. She enjoyed collecting various items, going to yard sales and loved spending time with her family and friends. Mrs. Little was of the Lutheran faith.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-five years, Mahlon Little, of the family home; two children, Christy Lou Penninger and husband, Bob, Springfield, Missouri and Mahlon Little, II and wife, Jane Ellen, Ruston, Louisiana; two grandchildren, Montana Paige Little and James Connor Little; one brother, Eddie Ray Myers and wife, Linda, Fresno, California; one sister, Betty Johnson and husband, Carl Oscar, Branson, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, two brothers, Charles and Clinton Myers and one sister and brother-in-law, Wilma Bell and husband, Jim, preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Robert L. (Bob) Bethel, 81, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Friday, July 20, 2018 at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Bethel died 7:37 a.m., Tuesday, July 17, 2018 at his home in West Plains. He was born December 22, 1936 at Bristow, Oklahoma to Arley Bethel and Maggie Little Bethel. On February 9, 1957, Mr. Bethel was married at Mountain Grove, Missouri to Fern Whitbey. He was a former businessman and before his retirement, he had managed the Richards Brothers Dry Goods and Sporting Goods for twenty-seven years. Mr. Bethel served his community for many years having been a member of the West Plains Downtown Association, West Plains Chamber of Commerce and the Industrial Development Corporation. He was an avid stamp collector, enjoyed doing yard work and loved his children and grandchildren. Mr. Bethel was a member of the First Baptist Church of West Plains.
He is survived by his wife, Fern Bethel, of the family home; two sons, Greg Bethel, wife, Tonya, Koshkonong, Missouri and Gary Bethel, wife, Tammie, Wentzville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Valla Bethel, Jason Bethel and Chelsea Bethel; one great-grandchild, Daygan; his sisters-in-law, Wanda Bethel, Estia Arnold and Mae Craig, husband, Bill; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents and three brothers, Eugene, Lloyd and Eddie, preceded him in death.
Mr. Bethel will lie in state from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Thursday, July 19th, at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Interment will be in the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery.
