My precious baby sister. How sad to loose you. You were such a wonderful person, so intelligent, so full of life. I know now, that you are safe in the arms of Jesus and that you will no longer feel the pain you have felt for so long. You were my baby sister and I have joy in my heart, every time I vision you standing on the bed when you were so small with those beautiful curls, in your little robe, that said, Here comes the judge…and you would say “kiss me baby”, as I waited for you to jump in my arms. I thank God for times with you, like a whole month in my favorite place, Hawaii, and our time together in the windy city of Chicago. I know you are safe in the arms of Jesus, along with your precious little girl Taylor Ann. Baby sister, I love you so much.

I became friends with Kelly and Cathy when Cathy was about thirteen or fourteen years old back in highschool in Brady Tx. We were all testing the waters of life, wanting to dive into the deep end but still a tad bit afraid of the great unknown. Within a year or two we had begun to make our mark on the world. We had figured out that the way to ‘fit in’ was to just be ourselves, so that is just what we did. Worked like a charm. When I last saw Cathy she had come into her own. Breathtakenly beautiful with eyes that had such amazing sparkle and shine, and a smile as big as Texas. It was always such a joy to be around her. So full of life and so ready to take the world by storm. Here we are a few years down the road and so much experience behind us. It makes me sad to know we never got the chance to catch up and get to know eachother as adults. I will forever remember her with those sweet freckles sprinkled across her nose and cheeks as she was in highschool as my friend. She touched my life in such a brief yet positive way. She will be missed. God bless.

Precious baby sister!! You were a star shining brightly when you were a baby!! You were a star shining brightly all through each and every year of your life as you grew into a beautiful lady!! My memories of running that brush through your beautiful curls melt my heart. Your beautiful personality and the sound of your laughter along with your beautiful smile now unfolds many cherished memories of my little sister!! I wish that I could of held your hand more through the valleys you had to walk through, for I know that you had many trials. And I know that you held on to Jesus. Now you are safe in Jesus’ arms forever more. You will always be that bright-shiny-star that will live forever in the hearts of all who knew and loved you. And in the arms of Jesus, you now shine brighter than ever! I love you Little Sister!!

I don’t even know where to start. I cannot even remember the first time I met Cathy, I just know that we were instant friends. I have so many great memories growing up together in Brady, from laying on the roof of her house in our bathing suits tanning using vegetable oil… boy, did we regret that the next day!!… to the time Debi Owens had a surprise birthday breakfast and when we went to wake Cathy up to go with us, she freaked out because she thought we had snuck in the window and was afraid we were going to wake up her mother. She was one of the funniest people I’ve ever met, always laughing and joking, and I missed her terribly when she moved away. I have spent many hours over the last 30+ years thinking about her and wondering whatever happened to her. I hate that we never got together again, to have a sleepover for old times sake, laughing and talking all night. I hope she knows what an impact she made on so many people during her lifetime, even before she became an adult, and how much she was missed by so many. I don’t know anything about what her life was like after she and Kelly left Brady, but it sounds like she had many trials, and that makes me very sad. I know she is at peace and I pray she can feel the love from many the hearts she touched. Rest In Peace, Cathy. I love you and miss you as much as I did the day you left Brady.

I can only say what great hugs Kathy gave me and her smile lite up any room she walked into. I too suffered from the same pain and disease that Kathy had and we would often share how we could get through each day. She would say “Thank God I have Frank”! He’s the best husband and freind I ever had. I will miss Kathy but I know, with no reservation what so ever, that I will see her on the other side of the river someday. Until then, rest in peace now dear friend and know that you are loved.

    Hugs,
    Beca
