Gladys Maloa Ray
Funeral services for Gladys Maloa Ray, 93, Elizabeth, Arkansas, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 15, 2013, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Ray died at 8:30 a.m., Sunday, May 12, 2013, at her home.
She was born April 6, 1920, at Cyril, Oklahoma, to Samuel and Maggie Gilliam. On June 22, 1939, she was married at Chickasha, Oklahoma, to Houston Sylvesta Ray, who preceded her in death on April 22, 1983. She worked as an L.P.N. at Ozarks Medical Center for twenty-seven years, retiring at age seventy-two. She enjoyed crafts, needlework, crocheting, cooking, canning and fishing. Mrs. Ray was a member of the Oak Valley Baptist Church.
She is survived by one son, Ronald Claude Ray, wife, Johnnie, Elizabeth, Arkansas; six grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; several great-great-grandchildren; one brother, Billy Gilliam, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one son, Kenneth Ray, one granddaughter, Pamala Kay Ray, three brothers and four sisters, precede her in death.
Mrs. Ray will lie in state from 4:00 p.m., Tuesday until service time at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the State Line Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
