Imogene Halverson
Graveside services for Imogene Halverson, 99, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, November 10, 2017 at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Olden, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Halverson passed away at 7:01 a.m., Friday, November 3, 2017 at Ozarks Medical Center.
She was born October 3, 1918, at West Plains, Missouri, to William Melton Stokes and Winnie Evelyn Fines Stokes. On July 6, 1936, she was married at Van Nuys, California, to Lindsey Richard “Pat” Halverson, who preceded her in death on May 11, 1996. Mrs. Halverson loved playing golf and had a passion for volunteering which included many various activities throughout the years, from little league fundraising to YMCA, bake sales and meals on wheels, which she continued to do into her nineties. She began volunteering at the nursing home to be near her husband and continued doing so after his passing to help others. Mrs. Halverson was a long time member of First United Methodist Church, where she volunteered her help for anyone needing assistance.
She is survived by one son, George Halverson; three grandchildren, Sara Jackson, Kristen Muenzer and husband, Rick and Ben Halverson; one sister, Mary Alice Gilchrist and husband, Keith; several nieces and nephews; and many cousins, including special cousins, Skip and Ina Downen and family, Laura Fine and family, Culen Haughn and the E.T. Stokes family.
Her parents, husband, two sons, John Halverson and Richard Patrick Halverson, one daughter-in-law, Maria Halverson, one brother, George Stokes and two sisters, Clara Mae Kimble and Winifred “Billie” Curtis, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to City of Hope and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
