James David “Kitten” Hayes
Funeral services for James David “Kitten” Hayes, 67, Caulfield, Missouri, will be at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2012 at Elijah Church of Christ, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Hayes died at 7:25 a.m., Sunday, January 8, 2012, at his home. He was born April 16, 1944, at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Bernie David and Elma Ethel Stiner Hayes. On June 19, 1963, he was married at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Janice Tackitt. He was a farmer, a mechanic and loved fishing and hunting. Mr. Hayes was a member of the Elijah Church of Christ.
He is survived by his wife, Janice Hayes, of the family home; three children, Kathie Bishop Truitt, husband, Jay, Alexandoria, Virginia, Trin Wilson, husband, Steve, Ellisville, Missouri and Gayla Owens, husband, Bruce, Salem, Missouri; six grandchildren, Rachael Truitt, Will Truitt, Nicholas Collins, Kayla Fine, Douglas Fine and Kelsey Bush; four great-grandchildren; one brother, J. B. Hayes, Marysville, Washington; four sisters, Pansy Callahan, husband, Lewis, West Plains, Missouri, Betty McGoldrick, West Plains, Missouri, Janice Grisham, Dora, Missouri and Laura Downing, Independence, Missouri; mother-in-law, Lucy Tackitt, West Plains, Missouri; four brothers-in-law, Ruben Lair, Parkville, Missouri, Lee Reynolds, State of Idaho, Kenny Tackitt, wife, Bonnie, Wichita, Kansas and Carl Tackitt, West Plains, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Judy Hixon, Caulfield, Missouri and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, three brothers, Cecil, Wayne and Bobby Hayes, three sisters, Rosie Lair, Inez Cotter and Fern Reynolds, brothers-in-law, Carl Downing, Sammy Grisham, Ray Hixon and Charles Tackitt, father-in-law, Lester Tackitt and one infant grandson, Jayson Truitt, precede him in death.
Mr. Hayes will lie in state from 2:000 p.m., Tuesday, January 10, 2012, until 12:00 p.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2012, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Baptist Hill Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Baptist Hill Cemetery and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
