A Celebration of Life Service for James Edward Ellison, 77, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 16, 2018 at Buck-James Monroe Park.
Mr. Ellison passed away at 3:55 a.m., Sunday, June 10, 2018 at West Vue Nursing Center.
He was born May 11, 1941, at West Plains, Missouri, to James Edward Ellison, Sr. and Ruth Gertrude Johnson Ellison. On July 30, 1959, he was married at West Plains, to Deloris Ann Britt, who preceded him in death on November 1, 1983; there were four children born to this union. On October 18, 1985, he was married at Willow Springs, Missouri, to Tammy Werner. All of his life, Mr. Ellison was a carpenter, had worked in construction and was a farmer. He enjoyed his family and loved spending time with them; he especially enjoyed family reunions.
He is survived by his former wife, Tammy Ellison and her special friend, Raymond Madden; eight children, Ruth Ann Weatherston and husband, Richard, James Dean Ellison and wife, Barbara, Billy Eugene Ellison and wife, Sharon, Darel Edward Ellison, Jesse Garza and wife, LaDawn, Daniel Garza, Amy Robinson and husband, Douglas and Jack Franklin Haynes and wife, Juanita; twenty-six grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; four brothers, Joe Ellison and special friend, Kathy, Jack Ellison and wife, Joyce, Bob Ellison and Sherman Strawn; one sister, Edith Pringle and husband, Charlie; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents, first wife, three brothers, Kenneth, John and Roger and two sisters, Edna and Susan, preceded him in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to Ozarks Medical Center Cancer Treatment Center and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
