Joan Opal Vaughan

A memorial service for Joan Opal Vaughan, 81, Spokane, Missouri, formerly of West Plains, will be announced at a later date.
Mrs. Vaughan passed away at 10:08 p.m., Monday, July 28, 2025, at her home.
She was born March 22, 1944, at Moody, Missouri, to Emlis Clayton (Mike) Strickland and Grace Opal Deatherage Strickland. On April 6, 1963, she was married at Moody, Missouri, to Harold Dee Vaughan, who preceded her in death on April 15, 2025. Joan was a hairdresser for many years in West Plains. She loved doing hair and sewing.
She is survived by two children, Sherri Foster and husband, Kenny, Spokane, Missouri and Rodney Vaughan, Province Town, Massachusetts; one granddaughter, Stephanie Waltrip and husband, James, Springfield, Missouri; two great-grandchildren, Charley and Jack Waltrip; two step-grandchildren, Tanner and Dylan Foster; four step-great-grandchildren, Hayden, Briar, Finley and Montgomery Foster; four sisters, Hope Heselton, West Plains, Faith Wilson and husband, Virgil, Nixa, Missouri, Doan Vaughan and husband, Howard, West Plains and Virgie McCannon and husband, Marion, Liberty, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, three brothers, James, Clayton and Raymond Strickland and one sister, Lela Langston, preceded her in death.
Memorial contributions may be made to Mercy Integrity Hospice, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
