As a young teenage girl, Joyce made a great impact and lasting impression on my young life by giving of herself to me in so many ways. She gave of her time to teach me things that were important for a young woman to know. She truly lived the biblical verse out from the beginning of her marriage in word and deed, by example, to those younger than her, In Titus 2:3-5, the Bible says “Likewise, teach the older women to be reverent in the way they live, not to be slanders or addicted to much wine, but to teach what is good. Then they can urge the younger women to love their husbands and children, to be self-controlled and pure, to be busy at home, to be kind, and to be subject to their husbands, so that no one will malign the word of God.
I truly believe Joyce lived this scripture in every way and it will be credited to her in heaven. Thank you to her for much early training in how to be a lady. I never knew at the time how much of those things I’d use or duplicate that she taught me. I’ve told my children and others of her often and wondered if I’d ever get the chance to say thank you. I randomly saw this. Today I get to thank her after she is gone, however, her family will see and know. I’m a firm believer heritage is important, and she left a firm foundation behind to honor others. To Joyce’s family: Keep up with the simple things for simple is huge. In the least, we find the greatest and this is what produces the kingdom of God. For to simply love people is the greatest legacy we can leave behind.
It is God’s richest blessing!!!. (Thank you Joyce)
