Marshall West “Curly”
Marshall West “Curly”, 86 retired maintenance leader for Lockheed Aircraft passed away March 16, 2014 at West Vue Nursing Center peacefully with his family by his side.
He was born January 25, 1928 in Haleyville, Alabama to Denver A. and Virginia L. (Barnett) West.
Marshall served in the U.S. Army. On June 20, 1953 he married Delavana “Gayle” (Varner) West in Brentwood, CA. In 1985 Marshall was baptized at the First Baptist Church of Canoga Park, CA. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother and uncle. Marshall had an infectious smile and laughter and will be missed by many.
He is survived by his wife of 60 years Gayle West, West Plains, Missouri, daughter, Kathy, husband Robert Clark, Puyallup, Washington; brother, Rufus “Jerry” West, Muscle Shoals, Alabama; grandsons, Bryce wife Megan Clark, Rapid City, South Dakota; Marshall Clark girlfriend KirbyKay Johnson, Wichita, Kansas; Troy wife Michelle Clark, Eatonville, WA; Daniel Clark, Puyallup, Washington; Tyler West, West Plains, Missouri; great-granddaughter, Holley Jean Clark, Eatonville, Washington; daughter in-law; Carolyn West, West Plains, Missouri; brother in-law, Ronald Akers, Tuscumbia , Alabama; sister-in-laws, Joyce West, Hamilton, Alabama; Greta West, Leesville, Louisiana, and several nieces and nephews.
Marshall is preceded in death by his parents, daughter, Alice Marie West; son, Kenneth West; brothers, Russell, Merle, William, and Donald West; sisters, Yvonne Bradford, Virginia Sue Akers, and Mary Lou West.
Family and Friends can visit from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m. Tuesday and 9:00 a.m., until 12:00 Noon Wednesday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at First Baptist Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Oak Lawn Cemetery.
Memorials contribution may be made to Alzheimer Association, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
