Maxine Eagleman
Funeral services for Helen Maxine Eagleman, 89, West Plains, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8, 2014, in the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Eagleman died at 1:08 p.m., Thursday, February 27, 2014, at her home.
She was born Septemer 1, 1924, at Hoxie, Arkansas, to James Isaac Brumitt and Susan Syblee McCarroll Brumitt. She attended Bakersfield High School and on December 24, 1941, was married at West Plains to Ralph Glen Eagleman, who preceded her in death on August 23, 2013. Before her retirement, she worked at Eaton Corporation, now known as Invensys and Baxter Lab. She loved to bowl and was active in the Friendly Neighbors Club of Leota and the Helping Hands Club of Moody. Mrs. Eagleman also sold Avon and was a member of the President’s Club. Her grandchildren called her “Grandma Avon”. Mrs. Eagleman was a member of the Church of Christ and attended the Washington Avenue Church of Christ. She was active in the ladies group while attending church in Lee’s Summit, Missouri.
She is survived by five children, Bobby Eagleman, of the family home, Jimmie Eagleman, wife, Patty, Harrison, Arkansas, Judy Eastman, husband, Lyle, Ronnie Eagleman, wife JoAnn, all of West Plains and Jerry Eagleman, wife, June, Kansas City, Missouri; eight grandchildren, fourteen great-grandchildren; five great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews, including special nieces, Marjorie Cockrum and Bonnie Carlisle.
Her parents, husband of seventy-one years, one grandchild, Jerrie June Kerr, one sister, Ozella Vaughan and one brother, James William Brumitt, precede her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, March 7, in the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Washington Avenue Church of Christ or Free Union Cemetery, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Free Union Cemetery.

Rest in peace grandma. I have so many memories of my childhood playing in the garden and in the old school (camping) bus. You are now joined with grandpa and my sister, J.J., in heaven. You will be missed but I know that you are in a better place now.
