She was born February 14, 1989, at Indianola, Mississippi, to Steve Shelton and Brenda Byars Shelton. On November 6, 2010, she was married at West Plains, to Phillip Shannon; they were married for fourteen and a half years and shared two wonderful sons, Matthias and Malakai. Megan loved her sons unconditionally and felt like they were her absolute greatest achievement. She regularly attended Cornerstone Family Worship. Her light shone brightly and she had a way of bringing joy to any room she entered. Those that had the opportunity to know Megan, will remember her bubbly personality and smile. She was a people pleaser and was always doing for others and never wanting anything in return. Her spirit, love and compassion will forever effect and guide the lives of many.
She is survived by her husband, Phillip Shannon, of the family home; two sons, Matthias and Malakai, of the family home; her parents, Steve and Brenda Shelton, West Plains; her brother, Stephen Shelton and wife, Mandy Franks and their children, Katelyn and Ashton, Tupelo, Mississippi, her grandmothers, Sarah Shelton, Tupelo, Mississippi and Vivian Bankston, Jackson, Mississippi; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, in-laws and countless friends.
Her grandfathers, Curtis F. Shelton and Leroy Byars, preceded her in death.
A private burial will be at the family’s cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice House of the Ozarks, and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.

I was not able to be around Meagan as much as I would have liked since we usually lived far apart but she was always easy to be around and surely one of my most favorite cousins. She loved her husband and her sweet boys more than they could ever know. She will be desperately missed and the hole she leaves in this world will be hard healed.

I am so thankful that I had the pleasure to work with Megan and get to know her, even if it was just a little bit, it was enough that I knew without a doubt that she was a person of the highest integrity and her compassion and willingness to help any one at any time was appreciated. No matter what I would ask her if she could help me with or do, her response was always a joyful “of course!” I will always remember that and can hear her saying it now. We had some good laughs and I really enjoyed her humor and wit I considered her a friend and I loved her. I am thankful I was able to tell her that. Those that never got to meet her really missed out on one special gal. My sincerest condolences to the family over this huge loss.

I met Megan at Wal-Mart pharmacy and my daughter worked with her and my other daughter lives right across the road from her family. I knew the first time I met her that she was a wonderful and good person. She always had a smile and her bubbly personality always made me feel better about life when I left. I am so sorry that this happened to her and her family that I know is a family grounded by love. May God bless and keep you in his care during this difficult time.
