Richard Vernon Robey

A memorial service for Richard Vernon Robey, 66, Jackson, Missouri, formerly of West Plains, will be held at a later date. 

Mr. Robey passed away at 3:22 a.m., Monday, June 30, 2025, at Jackson Manor.

He was born January 9, 1959, at Long Beach, California, to Robert Vernon Robey and Betty JoeAnn Rodgers Wilhelm.  He loved being outdoors, camping, bowling, dancing, racing cars, working on cars and building model cars.  Mr. Robey enjoyed get togethers with family and friends.  Richard had a great sense of humor and loved a good practical joke.  He loved his family and cherished his grandkids.  Mr. Robey served as a volunteer firefighter in San Bernadino County, California.

He is survived by his mother, Betty JoeAnn Wilhelm, Scottsbluff, Nebraska; one daughter, Donna Martin and husband, Billy, Gainesville, Missouri; four grandchildren, Harley and Elizabeth Martin, both of Gainesville, Missouri, Darren Barton, Kokomo, Indiana and Andy Ashley, Kempton, Indiana; one sister, Syndi Rogers and husband, Jim, Scottsbluff, Nebraska; one niece, Brittany Robey; three nephews, Bradley,  Kyle and Jesse Robey; and many other nieces, nephews and cousins. 

His father, George Wilhelm, Sr., one son, Richard Vernon Robey, Jr., one granddaughter, Bailey Sky Martin, two brothers, Dennis Robey and George Wilhelm, Jr. and two sisters, Terry Lynn Robey and Debbie Wilhelm, preceded him in death.
