Shirley Ann Mercer

Graveside services for Shirley Ann Mercer, 71, Peace Valley, Missouri, will be held at 1:00 p.m., Friday, February 21, 2014, at Shavers Campground, Oxford Arkansas, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Following a long illness, Shirley Ann Mercer went to be with the Lord on Friday, February 14, 2014, at her home.  She was born May 23, 1942, at West Plains, Missouri, to Henry J. Franks and Hulda Morgan Franks.  Shirley was a life-long Christian and attended Victory Chapel.  On March 20, 1982, she was married to Marvin Mercer; they spent many years in California.  Shirley loved reading and caring for her many plants and flowers.  She was a secretary, having been employed at Peace Valley School and First Christian Church in West Plains.

She is survived by her husband, Marvin Mercer, of the family home; three sons, John Shveyda, wife, Terry, Walnut Creek, California, Richie Shveyda, wife, Wendy, Sand Point, Idaho and David Shveyda, San Diego, California; several grandchildren; one great-grandchild; one sister, LaVerne Fowler, husband, James, Blue Mound, Texas; two brothers, Thelbert Franks, wife, Betty and Randall Franks, wife, Elaine, all of West Plains, Missouri; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, one sister, Lee Propp and two brothers, Delman and Clifford Franks, precede her in death.

Mrs. Mercer will lie in state from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m., Thursday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
