Virginia Lee Tackitt

Funeral services for Virginia Lee Tackitt, 81, West Plains, Missouri, will be at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 24, 2012, at Elijah Christ Church of Christ, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mrs. Tackitt died at 1:20 a.m., Saturday, April 21, 2012, at NHC Healthcare, West Plains, Missouri.  She was born September 11, 1930, at Norfolk, Virginia, to William Bailey Shelton and Ollie Etta Elizabeth Hobbs Shelton.  On October 23, 1946, she was married at Wasco, California, to J. B. Tackitt, who preceded her in death on April 19, 2001.  Before her retirement, she had been a bookkeeper and clerk at Consumer’s and JC Penney.  Mrs. Tackitt was a member of Central Church of Christ.

She is survived by five children, Ron Tackitt, Elijah, Missouri, Jerry Tackitt, wife, Judy, Huntingburg, Indiana, Roger Tackitt, wife, Marlene, Caulfield, Missouri, Stephen Tackitt, wife, Eden, West Plains, Missouri and Paula Vandiver, husband, Jay, Rockwall, Texas; twelve grandchildren, Jason, Amanda, Lorie, Marcie, Michael, Amy, Anna, Stephanie, Corina, Jarod, Brianne and Joel; seventeen great-grandchildren, Aly, Allison, Tori, Jay, Olivia, Bobbi, Taylor, Emilie, Jacob, Maggie, Tyler, Alex, Abby, Allie, Haven, Maverick and Vandiver.

Her parents, husband, three sisters, and two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Brandon, precede her in death.

Visitation will be from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, April 23, 2012, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Elijah Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Elijah Cemetery, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
