Robert Lee Sermon

Robert Lee Sermon, 81, West Plains, Missouri, passed away at 6:15 a.m., Saturday, July 19, 2025, at Pleasant Valley Manor.

He was born October 25, 1943, at Saint Louis, Missouri, to Clarence and Emily Poteet Sermon.  On August 17, 1963, he was married at Cassville, Missouri, to Shirley Woods, who preceded him in death on March 16, 2025.  Mr. Sermon was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He loved his family, friends, and his dogs.  He was a Mason for more than fifty years, and a Shriner for more than thirty-five years.  Mr. Sermon was a member of First Baptist Church of West Plains for over twenty years.

He is survived by one son, Robert Sermon; one brother, Billy Sermon and wife, Sandy; one sister, Ruby Dodson and husband, Woody; and many nieces and nephews.

His parents, wife, three brothers, Herbert, Thomas, and Sam Sermon, and two sisters, Catherine Whittington and Marcella Durbin, preceded him in death.
