Victor Francis Prewitt, 85, West Plains, Missouri, passed away at 6:25 a.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2021, at his home.  Arrangements under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

L. Hoyt Griffith of West Plains, MO, age 91 years, went to be with our Lord Jesus Christ on August 21, 2021. He was born on December 25, 1929 in Chattanooga, TN, and was married for 69 years to Ruth Griffith (“his Ruthie”). They met while both were serving in the Air Force during the Korean War. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hoyt and Nellie Griffith, his sister, Marie McDowell, and his sister Betty Ball and her husband, Ray, all of Tennessee.

He served in the Navy Reserve for two years from 1948-50, and in the Air Force for four years from 1950-54. His rank was S/SGT when he completed his service. He served as Radio Traffic Analyst with the National Security Agency (NSA) and was stationed at the South Post of Fort Myers and later attached to Bolling Air Force Base. His job was highly classified and he was awarded the National Defense Service Medal and the Good Conduct Medal. After leaving the military, he led an exemplary civilian life. He received an Engineering Degree from the University of Tennessee and later having worked for GE and IBM, he became a Senior VP in Electronic Banking Division of IBC, a Bank Holding Company (now part of Wells Fargo). After retirement, he received a 10-year U.S. Government Service Pin for working with the U.S. Census.

Survivors include three daughters, Della Marie Griffith and Dixie Pohlman of Richmond, VA, Diane Smithey and son-in-law, Louis, of West Plains, MO, and son, Mark Griffith, of Avon Park, Florida.

Surviving grandchildren include Tanner Griffith (Kara) of Raleigh, Drs. Ashley DiMeola (Michael) of Vermont, Daniel Griffith (Meredith) of State College, PA, Michael Griffith of St. Petersburg FL, Elizabeth Griffith of St. Petersburg FL, Samuel Smithey (Sharon) of Kansas City, MO, and Jack Smithey (Emily) of Kansas City, MO.

Other survivors include sister Pam Harne (Donald) of Smithsburg, MD, and a number of beloved nieces, nephews, great-grandchildren, great-nieces, and great-nephews.

He wanted it to be known by all, just in case they didn’t know it before, that he knew and loved the Lord Jesus Christ and wanted all of his friends and acquaintances to also know and love the Lord. He was an active member of Franklin Heights Church in Rocky Mount VA for many years. When he moved to Missouri in 2018, “Griff” found a good church and enjoyed attending First Baptist Church of West Plains.

A memorial service will be held at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Springfield, MO on Thursday, August 26, 2021 at 1:00 PM. Dennis Lee Lapekes, 53, West Plains, Missouri, passed away at 10:10 p.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Ozarks Medical Center. 

He was born June 7, 1968, at Grand Rapids, Michigan, to Dennis Loyd Lapekes and Sherry Brotherton Collins.  On November 13, 1986, he was married at West Plains, to Cindy Clark.  Dennis enjoyed classic cars, singing and playing music; he loved taking his grandchildren camping.

He is survived by his wife, Cindy Lapekes, of the family home; his mother, Sherry Brotherton Collins, West Plains,  Missouri; his father, Dennis Loyd Lapekes and step-mother, Dee, Grand Rapids, Michigan; his son, David Lapekes and fiancé Summer Carter and their four children, Amber, Kendra, Creed and Raelynn; his son, Dennis Lapekes and wife, Kimberly and their five children, Bryson,  Kayden, Quinton, Hailey and McKenzie; his son, Brian Clark and wife, Leisha and their three children, Trinton, Ramsey and Jameson, all of West Plains; his half-brother, Mark Lapekes, State of Michigan; and several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins. 

His brother, Tommy Sheldon, step-dad, Don Collins and grandparents, Charles and Ina Brotherton and Louie and Nina Lapekes, preceded him in death.

Graveside services for Eddie Cletus Wake, 77, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Mr. Wake passed away at 6:41 p.m., Monday, August 16, 2021, at Mercy St. Francis Hospital, Mountain View, Missouri. 

He was born May 7, 1944, at Vanzant, Missouri, to Lewis Wake and Essie Collins Wake.  On June 7, 1963, he was married at West Plains, to Paula K. Dotson, who preceded him in death on November 16, 2011.  Mr. Wake was a carpenter by trade.  He loved his family, and enjoyed nature, hunting and foraging for mushrooms.  He was always there for anyone in need. 

He is survived by four sons, Eddie Duane Wake and wife, Christina, West Plains, Darrell Wake and wife, Jessie, West Plains, Marty Wake, Peace Valley, Missouri and Mark Wake, West Plains; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; one brother, Glenn Wake and wife, Violet, Pottersville, Missouri; three sisters, Lavon Pliler, Joplin, Missouri, Edna Storms, Springfield, Missouri and Marilyn Howell and husband, Dalton, West Plains; and many nieces and nephews. 

His parents, wife, one grandson, Brian Wake, one brother, E. J. Wake, three sisters, Vetress Bruffet, Virginia Strickland and Neiva McCracken and one daughter-in-law, Sandra Wake, preceded him in death. 

A memorial service for Carolyn Faye Klock, 74, Pomona, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, August 25, 2021 in the Rose Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Klock passed away at 4:40 a.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis, Missouri. 

She was born October 28, 1946, at Fredericksburg, Virginia, to Walter Moore Newton and Shirley Mae Clift Newton.  On October 31, 1964, she was married at LaPlata, Maryland, to James Bernt Klock.  Carolyn loved her grandbabies and her e-mail ministry.  Mrs. Klock attended the First Baptist Church, Mountain View, Missouri

She is survived by her husband, James Klock, of the family home; seven children, Beth Mathews and husband, Randy, Makaha, Hawaii, Tina Ham and husband, Robert, Ocala, Florida, Jim Dewey Klock and wife, Marcie, Stafford, Virginia, Amanda Brown and husband, Devin, West Plains, Allison  Klock-O’Conner and husband, Greg, Warrensburg, Missouri, Ross Klock, Pomona, Missouri and Cyndi Welch and husband, Chris, Tall Timbers, Maryland; thirteen grandchildren, Dan, Laura, Cameron, Triston, Megan, Alex, Brendan, Drew, Payton, Gabe, Reagan, Kyle and Joe; five great-grandchildren, Trooper, Wyatt, Paisley, Bradley and Kyle;  one sister, Linda Newton Ellison and husband, Rich ; and one cousin, Barbara Howell.

Wilma Darlene Hall, 86, West Plains, Missouri, passed away at 5:24 p.m., Thursday, August 12, 2021, at West Vue Nursing Center. 

She was born September 17, 1934, at Dora, Missouri, to Dewey Russell and Birdie Smith Russell.  On January 18, 1952, she was married at Mountain Home, Arkansas, to Floyd (Deane) Hall, who preceded her in death on December 24, 2002.  Mrs. Hall worked for over thirty years as a cashier at Howell-Oregon Electric, retiring in May of 1992.  She was a life longn Christian, her faith was one of the most important things to her.  Wilma was known for her smile and always had one for everyone.

She is survived by two sons, Gerald (Jerry) Hall and wife, Debbie, Mountain Home, Arkansas and Mark Hall and wife, Tammy, Rogersville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Mandy, Beau and Brandon Hall; seven great-grandchildren; one sister, Lillian Gunter, West Plains, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. 

 Her parents, husband, one daughter, Barbara Hall, three brothers, Guy, Glenn and Don Ray Russell and one sister, Dolly Lancaster, preceded her in death.

Larry Gene Shockey, 59, Willow Springs, Missouri, passed away at 12:38 a.m., Wednesday, August 18, 2021, at his home. 

He was born May 29, 1962, at West Plains, Missouri, to Marvin Clayton Shockey and Wilma Abney Shockey.  On March 7, 2002, he was married at Salem, Arkansas, to Karen Collins.  Larry was a professional hunting guide.  He was a big man with a big heart.  Larry had a strong passion and love for the outdoors, getting young people into the outdoors and was in the National Hunters Hall of Fame. 

He is survived by his wife, Karen Shockey, of the family home; three children, Jessica Lynn Shockey, Willow Springs, Missouri, Tyler Collins, Ozark, Missouri and Zachary Shockey and wife, Erin, Rogersville, Missouri; four grandchildren; his mother, Wilma Shockey, Willow Springs, Missouri; one brother, Michael Shockey and wife, Jeanette, West Plains; and several nieces and nephews. 

His father, grandparents, Reverend Bill and Virginia Abney and several aunts and uncles, preceded him in death.

Graveside services for Donnie Dean Smith, 85, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021 at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Mr. Smith passed away at 9:00 p.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at KU Medical Center, Kansas City, Kansas surrounded by family. 

He was born January 23, 1936, at Pomona, Missouri, to Granville Wellington Smith and Viva Lee Burgess Smith.  Donnie graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1954.  Mr. Smith was a veteran, having served with the United States Army Company G 3D Battalion 14^th armored cavalry and traveled to Germany. He lived in the Kansas City area for many years as well as Thomasville, Georgia before returning to live in West Plains the later years of his life.  He worked for Fairbanks Morse Pumps, a division of Colt Industries as a Manufacturing Plant Manager.  Donnie enjoyed spending time with his family, neighbors and friends and was loved by all.  He was a sports fan and enjoyed playing golf and fishing.  He also enjoyed gardening and working on projects around his home.  He was a member of the 14 Junction coffee club with endless stories to tell.  Donnie always had a positive attitude and always happy to help others.

He is survived by two children, Dawn Kirchmer and husband, Kevin, Olathe, Kansas and Brian Tullis and wife, Leslie, Blue Springs, Missouri; five grandchildren, Gavin, Kaylin and Sophia Kirchmer and Cole and Owen Tullis; two brothers, Lamar Smith and Howard Smith and wife, Nancy; one sister, Cora Jane Stevens; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. 

His parents, one brother, Joe Smith, one brother-in-law, Jack Stevens and two sisters-in-law, Fern Smith and Shirley Smith preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Lee Donald Vincent, 83, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, August 21, 2021 at United Freewill Baptist Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Mr. Vincent passed away at 12:47 p.m., Monday, August 16, 2021, at his home. 

He was born April 12, 1938, at Koshkonong, Missouri, to Archie Vincent and Ethel Deavers Vincent.  Lee graduated from Koshkonong High School.  On July 1, 1961, he was married at West Plains, to Barbara  Jones.  Mr. Vincent was a veteran, having served with the United States Air Force for four years and the Missouri National Guard for six years.  He worked as an inspector at Missouri Department of Transportation for thirty-eight years.  He was a family man; his grandkids were his number one priority and he had a major role in the upbringing of them.  He was very patriotic and flew a flag at his home every day to show support for his country.  Lee was an avid Cardinals fan and would talk about them to his favorite nurse at every visit.  He was a devoted Christian, father and husband; caring for his wife through sickness and health.  Mr. Vincent was a member of United Freewill Baptist Church for over thirty years. 

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Vincent; two children, Becky Wade and husband, David and Bruce Vincent and wife, Melanie, all of West Plains; two grandchildren, Brittany Maggard and husband, Brandon, Republic, Missouri and Clayton Vincent, West Plains; his latest blessing, one great-granddaughter, Becca Maggard; three brothers, Dale Vincent and wife, Ethel, Springfield, Missouri, Harry Vincent and wife, Marie, Ballwin, Missouri and Jerry Vincent and wife, Norma, Naples, Florida; two sisters, Shirley Wilt and husband, Richard, Green Valley, Arizona and Sue Harris, St. Charles, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Dee Vincent, Boonville, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews. 

His parents, one brother, Joe Vincent and two brothers-in-law, Larry Jones and Randal Harris, preceded him in death.

Funeral services for Bryan Leland Riddle, 67, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 22, 2021 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Mr. Riddle passed away at 2:35 p.m., Monday, August 16, 2021, at Ozarks Medical Center. 

He was born September 17, 1953, in Des Moines, Iowa, to Clarence Leland Riddle and Marianne Cunard Riddle.  Bryan was a collector; he was passionate about cars and enjoyed going to car shows.  He loved his daughter and granddaughters.  Bryan loved everyone he met. 

He is survived by one daughter, Kelsey Anne Riddle; two granddaughters, Sophia Langston and Lilly Sweat; special friend, Rhonda Howell; one sister, Sheryl Ramsey and husband, Jeff; nephew, Chad Lockard; great-niece, Destiny Kendrix and husband, Da’Shawn; and great-great-nephew, Jeremiah Kendrix. 

His parents preceded him in death.

Graveside services for Pastor Michael Auldon Burgess, 45, Merryville,  Louisiana, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Mt. Zion Cemetery, Olden, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Pastor Burgess went to his eternal resting place on Thursday, August 12, 2021.

Funeral services for Floyd Rhine, 84, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, August 19, 2021 at Curry Street Church of Christ, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Mr. Rhine passed away at 5:55 p.m., Friday, August 13, 2021, at Ozarks Medical Center. 

He was born May 6, 1937, at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Dewey Garfield Rhine and Sula Butram Rhine.  On October 18, 1958, he was married to Dorothy Ann McThompson.  To their union, one daughter was born, Vicky Sue Rhine Combs.  Mr. Rhine was a veteran, having served with the United States Army in Germany.  Floyd worked at the International Shoe Factory for seventeen years.  He was a jack of all trades.  Mr. Rhine was an auctioneer for many years, he bought and sold cattle and horses along with having car and trailer sales businesses.  He never knew a stranger.

He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Rhine; their daughter, Vicky Sue Rhine Combs; a daughter from a previous marriage, Shirley Garrison and husband, Ronnie; a special nephew that he loved as a son, Jeri Wayne Rhine and wife, Sondra; four grandchildren, Anna Casey and husband, Craig, Shana Scicluna and husband, Justin, Shawn Garrison and wife, Jenni and Heath Garrison and Matthew; seven great-grandchildren, Landon, Lexus, Lyndzey and Layton Casey (children of Anna and Craig), Christian Scicluna (son of Shana and Justin) and Ryan and Tyler Garrison (sons of Shawn and Jenni); one great-great-grandson, Rylan Garrison (son of Ryan and Alexis); two brothers, Roy Rhine and Gary Rhine and wife, Mary; two sisters, Pauline Scherff and Helen Laxton; and several nieces and nephews. 

His parents, two brothers, Ray Rhine and Charles Wayne Rhine and one nephew, Keith Wayne Rhine, preceded him in death.

A memorial service for Carlton (Cottie) E. Holmberg, 90, West Plains, Missouri will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, August 20, 2021 at First United Methodist Church, 503 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.

Mr. Holmberg passed away at 7:43 a.m., on Tuesday, August 3, 2021, at St. Louis University Hospital after a brief illness.

Carlton was preceded in death by wife, Darlene; daughter, Sandra; son, Timothy; and brother, Richard.

He is survived by former wife Lois; son, Douglas (Kim); sister, Mary Lou Keifer; brother, Robert (Mary Ann); grandchildren; and close friend, Robert Stirewalt.

He was born on March 10, 1931 in Wausau, Nebraska to Clarence and Edith Holmberg. Carlton was, above all else, a devoted follower of Christ. Throughout his life he was committed to communicating God’s love to his family, friends, and to each person God placed in his life. That commitment led to various ministries, including both youth ministry and the Gideon’s. Beyond his faith, he was a consummate craftsman who took great pride as a welder throughout his working years. He was always prepared to entertain with his harmonica.

Graveside services for Ella Marie Drumright, 94, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, August 17, 2021 at Hope’s Rest Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Drumright passed away at 2:15 p.m., Thursday, August 12, 2021, at West Vue Nursing Center. 

She was born September 16, 1926, at South Fork, Missouri, to John Edmon (Edd) Callahan and Alpha Easley Callahan.  On December 5, 1947, she was married at West Plains, to Jesse Earl Drumright, who preceded her in death on April 9, 2018.  Ella was a beloved daughter, sister, wife, aunt, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother.  She was a wonderful homemaker and loved gardening.  Ella was a hard worker; she worked for many years at International Shoe Factory.  Mrs. Drumright was a much loved member of Hope’s Rest Primitive Baptist Church. 

She is survived by four children, Janice DeBoard, Gorden Drumright and wife, Lois, Frank Drumright and wife, Rita and Steven Drumright and wife, Vicki; twelve grandchildren, Craig Drumright and wife, Julie, Kelli DeBoard, Meggan Richardson and husband, Lance, Jessica Adams and husband, Bobby, Hayden Drumright and wife, Audrey, Dalton Drumright and wife, Chandal, Lizabeth Huntley and husband, Chris, Ronnie Drumright, Floyd Drumright, Barbara McIntosh and husband, Tre, David Drumright and Chris Drumright and wife, Kasey; many beloved great-grandchildren; two sisters, Genevieve Gentry and Lea Langston and husband, Jim; and many nieces and nephews.

Mrs. Havens passed away at 2:33 a.m., Wednesday, August 11, 2021, at her home. 

She was born November 18, 1952, at Pomona, Missouri, to Edward Cyril (Bud) Brower and Helen Lucille Kethcart Brower.  She graduated from Willow Springs High School in May of 1970.  On November 14, 1970, she was married at Pomona, Missouri, to James Havens, who preceded her in death on August 20, 2007.  She loved her family and friends and enjoyed playing dominos and making Sunday breakfast. 

She is survived by two daughters, Anita Collins and husband, Allen and Angela Havens and significant other, Damon Keough, all of Willow Springs; five grandchildren, Tanya, Michael, Makayla and Gregory Moore and Emma Collins; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Janice Fritts and husband, Kenneth, Virginia Mitchell and Debbie Vigdal; two brothers, Doug Brower and wife, Jo and Louie Brower and wife, Tami; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. 

Her parents, husband, four brothers, George, Chester (Pete), Gerald and Ronald Brower and three sisters, Rebecca Lake, Marcella McMurtrey and one infant, preceded her in death.

Graveside services for David Lee Warren, 60, Tallahassee, Florida, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021 at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Mr. Warren passed away at 11:00 a.m., Monday, August 2, 2021, at Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare. 

He was born August 22, 1960, at West Plains, Missouri, to Noah (Don) Warren and Bessie Mandy Young Warren.  David was an electrician and had worked at Lowe’s.  He enjoyed fishing, raising flowers and gardening. 

He is survived by one son, David Warren and wife, Jessica, Harrisonville, Missouri; three grandchildren, Remini, Piper and Rucker; his parents, Noah (Don) and Bessie Warren, Tallahassee, Florida; one brother, Rickie Warren, Springfield, Missouri; two nephews, Jason Warren and Kevin Warren; and many great-nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Paul Truman Miller, 96, Bakersfield, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 15, 2021 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. 

Mr. Miller passed away at 2:40 a.m., Wednesday, August 4, 2021, at his home. 

Truman was born on December 17, 1924, at his home near Bakersfield, Missouri to Noah Miller and Myrtie Halford Miller. He graduated from Bakersfield High School, and after graduation Paul enlisted into the United States Army in 1944 where he served most of his time in Japan and was discharged in 1946.  When he returned home he married Wilma “Roxie” Kesner at Mountain Home, Arkansas on April 7, 1947.  He loved to farm and bought land close to Bakersfield, Missouri where they started their family.  Truman worked away from home during the week and Roxie milked cows.  He would return home each weekend to pastor churches in the area.  Later in life, Truman used his carpentry skills to build many homes around Bakersfield and surrounding towns.  He loved spending time with his family and many friends from all of the churches where he pastored.  Truman was the happiest when all his family was together. He loved to travel with his family and share his memories with them.  Truman was the cornerstone of his family and raised all of his children and grandchildren to have trust and faith in God, and that He would always supply their needs, and He did.  Truman’s primary goal in life was to tell people about Christ and how wonderful Christ is and how He could change their lives and give them peace and contentment.  He taught his family to love everyone and to lend a helping hand. Truman was a true blessing to all that knew him.

He is survived by his wife of seventy-four years, Roxie Miller, of the family home; three children, Karen Summers and husband, Gene, Beverly Bonham and husband, Tommy and Paula Crites and husband, Bill, all of Bakersfield; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Bridges and husband, Brian, Darrell Summers and wife, Trudy, Hayden Bonham and wife, Patricia, Travis Crites and wife, Tami, Valerie Lockett and husband, Thomas; Paul Summers and wife, Malisha, Natashia Forsythe and husband, Brandon and Dalton Crites and wife, Brandy; seventeen great-grandchildren, Lauren Newhard and husband, Justin, Morgan Cooper Bridges, Wyatt , Cole, Emily, Shelby and Riley Summers, Ethan, Zane and Paige Crites, Cora Beth Epley and husband, Cody, Makadah Lockett, Levi and Allie Hollingshad and Layton, Logan and Kamrie Crites; one sister, Mabel Mooney, Ruby Michigan; several nieces and nephews; and special hunting buddies, Billy Hand, Joe Summers, Mike Guffey, Stacey Guffey, Scott Uchtman, Ronnie Mullins and Brandon Johnston. 

His parents, one son, Truman (Dwight) Miller and two infant sisters, preceded him in death. 

Mr. Miller will lie in state from 5:00 until 8:00 p.m., Saturday, August 14, 2021, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.  Burial will be in the Udall Cemetery.  Memorial contributions may be made to Hawkin’s Ridge Church for a memorial for Paul Miller and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main, West Plains, MO  65775.
