Bob was a real good friend of mine. I want to express my condolences to the family. I enjoyed the many phone calls and time spent with Bob talking politics and issues of the day. He was such a dedicated man who helped the Calico Rock community furnishing jobs when there was such a need for work! He will be missed.

    Bobbie,
Just want to let you know you are in my thoughts. I thought a lot of your dad, and he was always a friend to me. He was a good hearted person who spoke his mind. I respected him for his honesty and the respect he showed my family. Know he is smiling down on you. Praying for you and your family.

I am so sorry for you, Lorene, and to your children for having lost dear Bob Hayes. He was such a big part of our lives when my husband Steve and I moved here from Memphis. He sponsored about 35 Vietnamese people to come here when they were in need. He provided jobs, places to live, food, clothing and love to all that came. I taught the Vietnamese English to help them meld into our society. Bob and Lorene provided everything else. I had never met a more kind and loving family. I had Mark and Bobbie in my class in the elementary and Bob played a big part in their education. I remember several times he called me about something they needed to do for homework. I was amazed at his concern. He definitely spoke his mind but was always so respectful to me and my family. He knew so many politicians and could talk your head off on politics. If he didn’t know, he would find out!!! He will be missed. Our community is a better place because of him. I am a better person because of him. God Bless the entire family.

So sorry to hear of Bob’s passing. We have many fond memories of our

the Bakersfield School Reunion event at the Bakersfield picnic grounds
a couple of years ago. Our thoughts are with you during this sad time.
