Dorothy Mae Murrell
Graveside services for Dorothy Mae Murrell, 90, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Friday, September 18, 2015 at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Murrell died at 7:58 p.m., Monday, September 14, 2015 at Ozarks Medical Center.
She was born December 25, 1924, in Howell County, Missouri, to Thomas Marlin Finley and Mayme Sue Parker Finley. She graduated from West Plains High School and on December 4, 1951, was married at Mountain Home, Arkansas, to James Robert “Jim” Murrell, who preceded her in death on January 8, 1984. Mrs. Murrell was the owner and operator of Murrell’s Cleaners for many years. She loved to play golf, especially with her nephew, Mike Finley. Mrs. Murrell enjoyed quail hunting, bowling, traveling with her friends and always enjoyed time spent at Branson, Missouri and seeing shows. She was a member of the Birthday Club. Mrs. Murrell was a member of First Baptist Church of West Plains, where she served on the Funeral Committee for thirty years.
She is survived by one son, John William “Bill” Murrell; daughter-in-law, Carrie Murrell; nine grandchildren, Rhea Edwards, Johnny Murrell, Jr., wife, Charlene, James Murrell, wife, Marcella, Connie Sexton, husband, Mike, Cathy Decker, husband, Larry, Rena Brower, husband, Neil, Elizabeth “Betty” Murrell, husband, Gary Haney, Mary Murrell and Helen Murrell; several great-grandchildren; many great-great-grandchildren; one great-great-great-grandchild; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one son, James Robert Murrell, Jr., one daughter, Emily Conrad, one grandchild, Randall James Conrad and four brothers, Ed, Leonard, J.T. and Dale Finley, precede her in death.
Mrs. Murrell will lie in state from 2:00 until 8:00 p.m., Thursday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
