I will miss my dear friend “Papa” May. He was always caring, cheerful and kind. I looked forward to his trips to the Northwest. He was one of the most dependable drivers I know.

For all who knew Elwood ( Papa May ) we could all testify that he was a true man.
He believed a hand shake was a contract , a mans word is worth the weight in gold and that if you’re going to do something , do it right the first time.
I have had the pleasure of loading spas on Papa May for many years. Through the years a friendship grew that I will always treasure and remember.
Papa told a story of years past when all of his family would gather on the property and have gatherings with kids screaming and running all over the place…His comment was there was nothing more important than family and that was what life was all about…I can just picture it in my mind with his legs crossed sitting on a picnic bench or giving kids rides on one of his tractors.
Papa will be missed but I am blessed to have had the opportunity to know him and call him my friend.
To the family of Papa, our thoughts and prayers are with you in your loss.
May the angels sing some Ozark Mountain blue grass to comfort him and bring a smile to that face that we all have witnessed and loved to see.

I have many memories of growing up on the ridge, near Uncle Claudie and Aunt Lorene.
They raised a good family, and Elwood was one of the very best of my cousins. He will be dearly missed, and I offer my deepest thought and prayers to all his loved ones.

i had the pleasure of meeting Elwood when he dropped a load near the office in South Bend. He represented Worldwide Freight in a very positive way. He would always say , how ya doing son! Didn’t get the chance to take up the many offers to deer hunt but always wanted to make it back to Arkansas where my grandparents lived at one time . Rest in peace Elwood . Nice to know Worldwide was on his doors when he left us.

Elwood was one of the most genuine and kind people I had the honor of meeting. He was funny and sweet and inspiring, and often times he’d call us here at Worldwide just to see how everyone was doing, even if he wasn’t working. He always knew how to make everyone smile, and he will be sorely missed. To his family, I am so incredibly sorry for your loss. We have you all in our thoughts and prayers.

    Stoney & Rocky,
So sorry to hear the news. Even though it had been years since I had saw Elwood, I thought of him often and all the memories we had growing up being neighbors. He was such a sweet man.
Hugs and prayers to you all.

Elwood so touched our hearts and lives. He will be SO missed. We here at the shop LOVED to see him pull his truck up because we got to visit with him for awhile. He was always talking about hunting, fishing, and his late wife. We loved to hear his stories. RIP Elwood, This man will never be forgotten.

It was so refreshing to hear Elwood’s voice and to talk about the outdoors, cutting/splitting wood, and the conversations that took place around the bonfires. Elwood was an honest, kind soul who would give you his last dollar or the shirt off his back. He never had an unkind word to say to anyone or about anyone. He will be greatly missed, RIP!!!!
