Mrs. Glenn was my freshman English teacher in West Plains. She was an enormous influence on me that year and guided me to be a better writer. I just retired from teaching high school English and continue to teach college English. I don’t think I would have considered that a possibility if not for Mrs. Glenn’s support and encouragement. She remains my favorite English teacher. I have thought of her often over the years. You were blessed to have her as your mother.

I remember your parents fondly from my days at West Plains High School. Your dad was my beloved band director, and I knew your mother through him. Among my memories while teaching English in St. Louis is a get-together during Christmas vacation that your folks hosted for soloists in a Messiah performance at the Methodist Church. Your mother was a warm and gracious woman, and you were blessed to have her for so many years.

I am very sad to learn of both Mr. and Mrs. Glenn’s passing. Mr. Glenn was my wonderful band director when our family (Adamson Family) lived in West Plains. My Mother was an English teacher at West Plains High School…her name Bernice Adamson. And, the Glenn Family lived just “around the corner” from us… We lived at 115 Harlin Drive. Both of my parents have passed away, as well as my twin, Janet S. Adamson Haynie. I was living in Las Vegas, Nevada, for years and I am now in St. Louis South County, Mo. I was online and discovered that Mr. and Mrs. Glenn have passed away. The Glenn Famly were just a precious family. And, I have such loving memories of West Plains and so many people we knew. All of the Glenn Family are in my prayers and I have precious memories of them, especially Judy Glenn, a beautiful young lady. Jan L. Adamson
