And now, rest in Jesus, Uncle Richie. You always brought a smile when I would reflect on your happy personality and wonderful, articulate stories when you wrote stories of your earlier life. Dad always enjoyed his visits with you when the folks were in the Assisted Living facility in Iowa. You will never be far from our thoughts and prayers.

Your stories, your laughter and your memories always touched my heart. Many times I read over your letters and reflected on your thoughtfulness and kindness to all of your family. Memories included helping your father build the home in Oak Lawn, to special times when your family would come and spend holidays with you. Through your writings, we will always have a bit of love and appreciation for all you did for everyone.

Recently I have read a few of your wonderful letters and through them we were able to hear your laughter and zest for life. You always brought that laughter with you and you will be forever remembered for that joyful sound. My favorite memory is, when we were very young, going on a Ferris wheel ride with you and having you rock that seat back and forth when we were at the very top! Your laughter erased my fears, sort of! We will forever appreciate your calls to Dad while he and Mom were at the Assisted Living. Dad so looked forward to conversation with you. You will be remembered for the joy you shared and we were blessed to know you and to call you “Uncle Richie”.
