Graveside services for Timmy Lynn Gunter, 59, of West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, March 16, 2026, at White Oak Cemetery in Ozark County, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Timmy passed away on March 13, 2026, in West Plains, Missouri.
He was born on March 23, 1964, in West Plains, Missouri, to Sherman Isreal Gunter and Evelyn Sue (Conway) Gunter. Timmy grew up in the Ozarks and graduated from Gainesville High School in 1983.
He was proud to serve his community as a volunteer firefighter, reflecting his generous spirit and willingness to help others.
In his free time, Timmy enjoyed the outdoors, especially hunting and fishing. Those who knew him well appreciated his quiet sense of humor and steady, kind presence.
Timmy will be remembered for his helpful spirit, his dedication to others, and the simple joys he found in life and nature.
He is survived by three brothers: Tony Gunter and wife Rhonda of South Fork, Missouri; Tommy Gunter and wife Kim of West Plains, Missouri; and Paul Gunter and wife Reba of South Fork, Missouri; four sisters: Dianne Collins and husband Phil of Pomona, Missouri; Bobbie Collins of Tecumseh, Missouri; Jackie Thornton and husband Brad of West Plains, Missouri; and Chris Turner and husband Keith of West Plains, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.
Mr. Gunter will lie in state Sunday, March 15, from 5:00 until 7:00 p.m., in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to White Oak Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 W. Main St., West Plains, Missouri.
