Dear Vernetie, Earl and I had the privilege of knowing you for only three weeks, but you made a huge impact and impression on our lives. We will always remember your sweet smile each day and the happiness and love that shined thru your eyes. We loved hearing you sing the old hymns. We loved your laughter and your sweet attitude. You blessed our lives and we will never forget you. God bless you. We know you are singing for Jesus!

Snow covered with more on the way, I regret I am unable to attend this service. Mrs. Goble holds a very special place in my heart and I have wonderful memories. She was my sister’s babysitter; I joined them before and after school. I remember working in the garden, gathering eggs, feeding the chickens, eating pears off the tree, and delicious homemade chocolate pudding, a favorite dessert in my own home that we refer to as Mrs. Goble’s Chocolate Pudding. I remember her sewing, and as an adult admiring her work, her beautiful aprons and her creative clothespin bag she put around my head as I went out to gather her clothes one day. She smiled and giggled her little giggle at the sight of me wearing it. I remember her showing me her photo album and hearing the stories about her family, about her “true love,” her first husband that she eloped with at a very young age, how happy they were together, how they lived with his parents until they could afford a place of their own. She told of his tragic death and how heartbroken she was. She was happy and grateful she found Sam and missed him dearly after he passed away. She loved her babysitting kids, and was grateful for them, thinking of them as her own. She loved my mom’s homemade fudge. She was always happy and smiling with her adorable little giggle. She was happy with her life, and said she felt very blessed. I feel blessed to have known her, to have been a little part of her life, for my memories of her, and that my children have wonderful memories of our visits with her (and Sam). We will all miss her dearly, but she will remain in our hearts, memories, and Mrs. Goble’s Chocolate Pudding.

Beautiful words, Tami! I wish my memories were as vivid as yours. I remember that wonderful, from scratch chocolate pudding that Mrs. Goble made for me. I remember stirring sugar into my tea with her long-handled tea spoons, and asking Mom why we didn’t have any of those. I remember gathering eggs, churning butter, and picking berries. I loved when the baby chicks arrived in the Spring. Once Mrs. Goble and Sam let me keep one who they were convinced was going to die. We put it in a cardboard box next to the wood stove in the front room and fed it, and it lived! Sam and Mrs. Goble were amazing people. I have never met anyone who was so genuinely content. I miss her already.

Gina, those are wonderful memories! I remember the baby chicks, too! And, yes, Sam and Mrs. Goble were wonderfully caring people! We’ve been having a lot of Mrs. Goble’s Chocolate Pudding lately! We definitely miss her and have been thinking a lot about her and the times we shared!

Some of my earliest memories are of “Nanny”. She babysat me for several years. I still enjoy singing the hymns she sang to me as a child. She and Sam were like grandparents to me. There will continue to be a place in my heart and memories that only she will fill. I know she is praising her Savior right now, and I look forward to seeing her again one day. I’m so blessed to have been able to know her. Love and prayers to her family.

We called her “Nanny” and we loved her. What a blessing she was to Tracy and my family. I always felt comfortable knowing she was caring for my daughter in such a Christian home. She and Sam are now together with their Savior.
