Bertha Lee Brumley
Funeral services for Bertha Lee Brumley, 77, Bakersfield, Missouri, will be held at 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, April 23, 2019 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Brumley passed away at 5:30 p.m., Wednesday, April 17, 2019 at Brooke Haven Health Care.
She was born April 19, 1941, at Ava, Missouri, to S. D. Lister and Rose Adolph Lister. On July 5, 1987, she was married at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Wilfred Alfred “Fred” Brumley, who preceded her in death on February 4, 2018. Mrs. Brumley worked at Bass Pro for 2 years while attending night school. Her family operated a family carnival and she ran Kiddie Car Ride and worked for the State of Missouri until her retirement; she enjoyed flowers, fishing, crafting and ceramics. Mrs. Brumley was of the Baptist faith.
She is survived by six children, Patricia Sloan and husband, Jack, John Oetting and wife, Mary, Aaron Oetting and wife, Bethany, Linda Jefferson and husband, George, Elaine Hernandez and husband, David and Mary Callahan and husband, Richard; one daughter-in-law, Phyllis Brumley; thirteen grandchildren; twenty-two great-grandchildren; five sisters, Beatrice Peterson and husband, T. J., Rosemary Ingerson and husband, Lewis, Ramona Cornett and husband, Frank, Retha Sutton and Ruth Grimm and husband, Fred; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one daughter, Regina Oetting, one son, Roger Brumley, two sisters, Bernadine Porter and Bernice Doughtery and four brothers, John, George, Avery and David Lister, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Brumley will lie in state from 5:00 until 9:00 p.m., Monday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Visitation will be held from 10:00 until 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Shady Grove Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Bakersfield American Legion and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
