Ellen Lorene Baumgardner

Funeral services for Ellen Lorene Baumgardner, 85, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, April 4, 2023, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.    

Mrs. Baumgardner passed away at 7:35 p.m., Sunday, March 26, 2023, at Ozarks Medical Center.  

She was born March 28, 1937, at Koshkonong, Missouri, to Mors Morgan and Martha Romans Morgan.  On January 29, 1957, she was married at West Plains, to Shelby Lee Baumgardner, who preceded her in death on January 29, 2010.  To their union two children were born, Lynn and Kim.  Before her retirement, Ellen worked as a CNA at NHC Healthcare; she loved her work and the residents.  Upon retirement, she began baking and quilting for numerous people.  In recent years, her family received a handmade gift for Christmas and lots of candy and cakes.  Just at the mention of someone expecting a baby, a quilt was being made.  Her family will all treasure these.  Ellen loved Elvis, John Wayne and the Golden Girls.

She is survived by her daughter, Kim and significant other, Thomas; nine grandchildren, LaDella, Jonathan, Jessica, Kathleen, Jeffery, Tyler, Robin, Kyle and Rodney; nine great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; one sister, Eva and husband, Wayne; one sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Shirley and Elvy; and many nieces and nephews. 

Her parents, husband, one son, Lynn and eight siblings preceded her in death.  

Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00 p.m., Monday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Blue Mound Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to NHC Resident fund or Blue Mound Cemetery and may be left at or mailed to Robertson-Drago Funeral Home, 211 West Main, West Plains, MO  65775.
