Kaye Stein
Funeral services for Virginia “Kaye” Stein, 69, St. Charles, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 11, 2017 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Stein passed away at 8:40 p.m., Saturday, January 7, 2017 at her home.
She was born August 18, 1947, at West Plains, Missouri, to David Scott “Red” West and Laura Juanita “Nita” McCandless West. She attended school in West Plains, Missouri and graduated from West Plains Beauty Academy, becoming a Cosmetologist. On January 27, 1968 she was married at St. Charles, Missouri, to Martin A. Stein. They were married three weeks shy of forty-nine years. The newly married couple moved to St. Charles, Missouri where their children were born and raised; Laura Stein, Mark A. Stein and Melissa Stein. Later they adopted and raised three of their grandchildren, Kevin Stein, Nita Stein and Lewis Stein. They were also blessed with their other grandchildren, Jessica Kaye Stein, Collin Alexander, Robert Alexander, Jarrod Alexander and Gillian Alexander. She owned a beauty shop in St. Charles and later worked for both Gracy and Fran at different salons in St. Charles. Kaye was also involved with an image consulting business, became vice-president of Missouri State Style Body and was Chairman of the Board of Educational Community of makeup. She had multiple extra-curricular activities, including Band Booster, Boy Scout troop leader and Night Line Booster through her children’s school years. Kaye retired at age forty and made her family her life. She was an amazing, caring, loving and inspirational woman. She was loved and adored by all of her family and friends and will be truly missed by this world. Mrs. Stein was a member of St. Robert Bellarmine Catholic Church for over forty years and was a Eucharistic Minister.
She is survived by her husband, Martin A. Stein; six children, Laura Stein, Mark A. Stein and wife, Stephanie, Melissa Alexander and husband, Christian, Kevin Stein, Nita Stein and Lewis Stein; her mother, Laura “Nita” West; five grandchildren, Jessica Kaye Stein, Collin Alexander, Robert Alexander, Jarrod Alexander and Gillian Alexander; one sister, Donna Trainor; sister-in-law, Teri West; several cousins, nieces and nephews; and many friends.
Her father, one brother, David L. West and one brother-in-law, Ed Trainor, precede her in death.
Visitation will be from 4:00 until 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.

Martin, Nita and families, I was so very sad to hear the news of Kaye passing. You are all in my prayers. Praying for God to wrap you all in his arms and hold you tight giving you strength and peace today and in the days to come. Much love to you all.

My prayers and sympathy at the loss of this tremendous woman. I was blessed with many memorable conversations with Kaye at church, boy scout meetings and events, and other life arenas. She was always so proud of each of you her family members! I will be keeping Kaye and all of you in prayer.
