He was a strong presence in our lives. He bore his responsibilities of country and family with strong shoulders & never waivered. He was as strong in his illness as he was in all his life & kept his sense of humor through it all. May he rest in peace & know his family loved him dearly.

Ray, it has been an Honor to have known you all these years. We shared similar stories and events in our military history of VietNam. You were U.S. Army and mine was U.S.Navy Fleet Marine Forces. I grew to admire, respect, love, and look up to you during those years. You were a great asset to this Great Nation and I thank you as well as salute you. I shall meet you on the other side. GOD BLESS and Semper Fi, my friend.

Day is done, gone the sun

From the lakes, from the hills, from the sky
    All is well, safely rest
    God is nigh.

    Fading light dims the sight
And a star gems the sky, gleaming bright
    From afar, drawing near
    Falls the night.

Thanks and praise for our days
Neath the sun, neath the stars, neath the sky
As we go, this we know
    God is nigh.

You showed great courage and strength throughout this horrible illness. When I found out you had left this earth I was very sad for your family, and those who loved you…but I also felt great joy that your suffering was over. Thank you Ray for all the memories we shared …from our youth in WP and KC, and for the recent phone and internet friendship we shared. I will always keep those memories close. And also for your brave service to this country when you served in Vietnam! I know your sons and family must be so proud! RIP Ray! You will be missed by all.
