Walter James “Jim” Pierce
Funeral services for Walter James Pierce, 90, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Pierce died at 7:05 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Brooke Haven Health Care.
He was born April 15, 1924, at Witcker, Pennsylvania, to Walter Pierce and Elizabeth Tomco Pierce. On July 1, 1949, he was married at Overland, Missouri, to Birdiemae Burch, who preceded him in death on November 4, 2012. Mr. Pierce was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy. He was an Engineer with Leonard’s Metal Company, and retired after thirty-five years. Mr. Pierce was a Christian.
He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Sharon and Richard Eaves, Cedar Hill, Missouri, Ron and Joyce Burch, Deland, Florida, Bill and Sally Burch, St. Charles, Missouri and Linda Wilkens, Austin, Texas.
His parents, wife and sister-in-law, Alice Burch, precede him in death.
Mr. Pierce will lie in state from 4:00 p.m., Friday, until service time at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

I had the pleasure of caring for Walter. He was a sweet, intelligent man. He was always my favorite patient. Now he can go on to be with his Birdie that he missed so dearly.
