Mrs. May passed away at 7:57 p.m., Monday, March 13, 2023, at her home.
She was born July 19, 1942, at Ashland, Arkansas, to Leroy Moore and Lorene Neal Moore. On August 18, 1959, she was married at Jonesboro, Arkansas, to David Clarence May, who preceded her in death on August 11, 2001. Mrs. May enjoyed her family, grandkids and watching birds.
She is survived by three daughters, Donna May, West Plains, Sherrie Fry and husband, Steven, Pottersville, Missouri and Sharon Burns and husband, Walter, Winona, Missouri; fourteen grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; three sisters, Vonida Mounce, West Plains, Molly Williams, Rockford, Illinois and Carolyn Pyle, Rockford, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one daughter, Mary Ann Drumright and three brothers, Pete, Ralph and James Moore, preceded her in death.

Mrs. Duffell passed from this life on March 13, 2023, at her home.
She was born near Ravenden Springs, Arkansas, September 6, 1923, to Edmund Amos Claude and Rosie Clemons Claude, who died six months later. She was raised by her maternal grandparents, Henry and Feener Carroll Clemons, in the Hocomo/South Fork area, where she enjoyed the companionship of her many cousins. As an adult, she reunited with her father, and enjoyed many years of having him in her life. In 1946, she was married to Chester Duffell, who preceded her in death in August, 1963. She was forty years old with two teenage daughters. Oma Lee was a woman with a strong will and many skills that benefited her family. She was a good cook, an excellent seamstress, and usually had a milk cow or dairy goats. A highlight of her goat raising days was when her favorite doe gave birth to four babies and had enough milk for all! She enjoyed gardening, canning, bird watching, and Major League Baseball on TV. She loved dogs, and especially her last canine companion, Wally, who was literally by her side daily and on the foot of her bed every night. He preceded her in death by just three months, at the age of thirteen years. In her late middle age, Oma worked outside the home at Baxter Lab and Riverways Home Health. At age sixty-eight, she was recognized as a semi-finalist in the Missouri State Older Worker of the Year contest. She thoroughly enjoyed the camaraderie of coworkers at both jobs, and cheerfully recalled stories about them until the end of her life.
Oma is survived by two daughters, Judy Duffell of Hocomo, and Jo Leta of Brandsville; a niece and nephew, Bonnie Roberson Smith and Joseph Ray Roberson, both of Florida; and many great nieces and nephews and distant cousins.
She is preceded in death by her husband, her parents, and two sisters, Daisy Fare and Pearl Leninger. Oma Lee is the last of Henry and Feenor Clemons’s nineteen grandchildren, having been preceded in death by her last male cousin, Lloyd Clemons, by seventeen days.

Mr. McThompson passed away at 4:10 a.m., Monday, March 13, 2023, at NHC Healthcare.
He was born September 8, 1950, at West Plains, to Harry Franklin McThompson and Betty Lou Carter McThompson. On July 3, 1995, he was married at Mountain Home, Arkansas, to Louise Campbell. Alan graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1968 and went on to achieve an Associate’s degree. Mr. McThompson was a veteran, having served with the United States Army. He enjoyed woodworking and watching MIZZOU basketball. Alan loved his family and was especially proud of his granddaughters.
He is survived by his wife, Louise McThompson; one daughter, Krystal Brown and husband, Scott; two granddaughters, Rylee and Reese Brown; one brother, David McThompson; and several nieces and nephews.
His parents preceded him in death.

Mrs. Rhine went to see her eternal home March 12, 2023.
She was born July 27, 1952, to James and Lillie Evans Moss. On December 26, 1970, she was married at West Plains, Missouri to Jerry Rhine. Mrs. Rhine worked at Baxter Lab until 1973, when she began working in banking for many years until her retirement. She also served on the West Plains School Board for a number of years. Phyllis loved gardening, hunting, fishing, camping and going to the creek. She enjoyed watching and feeding the birds out of her kitchen window and watching deer from her front door. Phyllis loved her kids, grandkids and great-grandkids most of all. Mrs. Rhine attended Amy Baptist Church for twenty years.
She is survived by her husband, Jerry Rhine, of the family home; one daughter, Crystal Hite and husband, Tim; one son, Jared Rhine and wife, Melissa; five grandchildren, Mason Ousley and wife, Rachel, Jacob Rhine and wife, Rachelle, Dylan Hardy and wife, Rebecca, Sara Rhine and Shelbi McClain and husband, Paul; five great-grandchildren, Niko Rhine, Colton Hardy, Bryce Lee, Paisley McClain and Korbin McClain; her mother, Lillie Moss; her father-in-law, Roy Rhine; one sister, Vicky Bassham and husband, Terry; one sister-in-law, Theresa Hensley and husband, Ronnie; and several nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles.

Mrs. Tackitt passed away at 2:43 p.m., Friday, March 10, 2023, at West Vue Nursing Center, surrounded by her family.
She was born October 10, 1939, at Rockville, Indiana, to Cecil Martin and Ruth Penn Martin. On March 1, 1955, she was married at South Bend, Indiana, to Billy Joe Tackitt. Patsy was a lifelong homemaker. She was a skilled quilter, baker and enjoyed canning produce picked from the family garden. Most of all, Patsy enjoyed spending time with those who called her wife, mom and Granny. In fact, family gatherings would consist of more than 50 people and 5 generations with Patsy sitting at the head of the table. After years of answering to “Granny”, Patsy earned a new name of “Baby Granny” when her grandson-in-law picked her up and moved her in place for a family group photo. Her two year old great-grandson pointed and said “Look, it’s a Baby Granny!” While many took care of her physically, Patsy will be remembered for having great mental and emotional strength, providing advice and a level head through the most trying times. She raised her daughters to be strong, independent women while also being compassionate and loving. Patsy believed a homemaker also meant that you learned to become a jack-of-all-trades and so that’s how she will be remembered. Talented. Strong. Loving.

Mrs. Dancer passed away at 7:00 a.m., Sunday, March 12, 2023, at her home.
She was born July 19, 1942, at Weed, New Mexico, to Hervil Adam Guilliams and Edith Watkins Guilliams. On January 5, 1963, she was married at Wichita, Kansas, to Louis Lee Dancer, who preceded her in death on September 12, 2003. Mrs. Dancer owned, operated and worked in many restaurants, but was always a full time mom and grandma. She loved her family dearly, her children, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Mary was a wonderful cook; she enjoyed cooking and baking. She always looked forward to family gatherings and her shopping days with Angela. Mrs. Dancer was a member of The Intercontinental Church of God.

Mrs. Tedder left this earth and met her Lord on Monday, March 6, 2023, at 1:15 a.m. Betty fought Alzheimer’s disease for almost two years. She passed away in Branson, Missouri at her children Rick and Kathy’s home.
She was born January 31, 1941, at Windsor, Illinois, to Loren Sevester Tharp and Loar Dalene Glaspell Tharp. Betty was blessed with 15 brothers and sisters, of which she was the 4th. The entire Tharp clan moved from Illinois to Missouri in the winter of 1951. Betty was born into a family that farmed and was taught to work at an early age. She carried that work ethic with her throughout her entire life. On January 29, 1961, she was married at Birch Tree, Missouri, to Rollan Tedder.
Betty and Rollan were the proud parents of four children, Rhonda Cattell and husband, Paul, Rick Tedder and wife, Kathleen Croteau, Roger Tedder and Brenda O’Cain and husband, Jerry; Betty was a devoted grandmother to seven beautiful grandchildren, Stacy Parsons and husband, Fred, Tina Roberts and husband, Brandon, Jennifer Davis and husband, Chad, Christine Lee and husband, Nicholas, Joshua Tedder, Kayla Pearson and husband, Sean and Jerry O’Cain, Jr.; Betty adored her thirteen great-grandchildren and one adopted grandson, Chandler and Parker Davis, Emma and Elijah Roberts, Alexis, Payton and Maverick Parsons, Devin Lee, Abel James Cameron, Ashland and Cadence Pearson and Tyler, Caiden and Braden O’Cain; She is also survived by; five brothers, Garry Tharp, Jerry Tharp and wife, Janice, Fred Tharp, Charles Tharp and Keith Tharp and wife, Marilyn; four sisters, Elaine Redburn, Shirley Holden, Verna May Murphy and husband, Wayne and Joyce Snethern; and many nieces and nephews.

Mr. Simpson passed away at 11:59 p.m., Monday, March 6, 2023, at Cox South, Springfield, Missouri.
He was born March 28, 1958, at Kansas City, Missouri, to James Edward Simpson and Dorothy Mae Smallwood Simpson. Before his retirement, James worked on the bridge crew of the Burlington-Northern Railroad. He was a hard worker who fought hard, was a loyal friend and a man of his word. He loved his family, enjoyed pestering them and was there at any moment he was needed. James was very adventurous and loved the outdoors; he enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming and most recently loved making fishing rods. He will be missed.
He is survived by three children, Jamie Simpson, Shannah Wood and husband, Brent and Brooke Robertson; five grandchildren he adored, Mason Bryan, Riley Simpson, Hunter McCullough, Chloe Simpson and Hadley Wood; special friends that called him Papa that he loved very much, McKenzie, Emma, Breezlie, Kinsley and Eli; one brother, Joe (Jody) Simpson; two sisters, Brenda Brotherton and husband, Doug and Cathy Klein; one sister-in-law, Gina Simpson; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Chronister passed away March 8, 2023, in West Plains, Missouri.
He was born November 4, 1932 at St Louis, Missouri to Eugene Jewell and Ina Jackson Chronister. Bob graduated from elementary and high schools in St Louis. The family attended Tower Grove Baptist Church in St Louis, where he was baptized. It was there that he met Betty Sue Gold, his future wife. Bob enlisted in the United States Air Force in 1952, and served as an aircraft maintenance technician. He was assigned to a unit in England that spent temporary duty periods in Morocco. In June 1954, when he was enroute to a new assignment near Seattle, Washington, he and Sue were married. They lived in Washington until he completed his enlistment, and then returned to the St Louis area. They lived in Crestwood, Missouri, where their two sons Craig and Brian were born, until they relocated to Alton, Missouri in 1976. While living in Alton, they attended Alton First Baptist Church where Bob served as a deacon for several years. In 2020 they relocated to West Plains, Missouri. After his service in the Air Force, Bob worked for various periods as a sales representative for Martin-Senour Paints, Webtrol Well Pumps and for Winnelson in West Plains, until his retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Sue; two sons, Craig and wife, Angie, and Brian all of West Plains; one sister, Carolyn Belt of Alton; one brother, Vernon, and wife Joyce, of West Plains; nieces Terry Belt of Arlington, Virginia and Jill Bruyr, and husband Keith, of Thayer; nephews Richard, and wife Regena Chronister, of West Plains and Andrew, and wife Kimberly Chronister, of Cape Girardeau, Missouri; one aunt Irene Chronister of Alton; and many cousins.
His parents, E.J. and Ina Chronister, parents-in-law Earl and Ethel Gold, uncles, aunts, and cousins, as well as beloved dogs, Barney & Blackie, preceded him in death

Wilborn E. Newberry, Jr. passed away at his home in West Plains, Missouri, on March 6, 2023.
He was born May 18, 1950, in Paragould, Arkansas where he lived for many years. Wilborn, called Wib by friends and family, was a carpenter, musician, singer, and songwriter.
Wilborn was preceded in death by his parents, Wilborn, Sr., and Joyce Cato Newberry of Paragould, Arkansas.
He is survived by one brother, James Newberry (Becky) of Little Rock, Arkansas; and three sisters, Phyllis Liversiedge of Southaven, Mississippi, Janet Taylor (Steve) of Ann Arbor, Michigan and Carol Phillips (Stan) of Paragould, Arkansas.

She was a cheerleader and was very active in sports. On September 7, 1956, she was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Gordon Uphaus. Mrs. Uphaus was employed at International Shoe Company for many years.
She is survived by her husband of sixty-six years, Gordon; one son, Ronnie Uphaus and wife, Shelly; one daughter, Terry Julian and husband, Gayle; four grandchildren, Weston and Amanda Julian, Brian and Lacey Uphaus, Paige Julian Robinson, and Jordan and Virginia Uphaus; eight great-grandchildren, Ava, Braxton, Brettly, and Cooper Uphaus, Bristol, Parker, and Evie Robinson, and Kallie Julian; one sister, Judy Horn; one brother, Gary Lashley and wife, Jo; one brother-in-law, David Welch; and two sisters-in-law, Emma Lou Lashley and Shirley Cochran.

Mr. Mathis was a veteran, having served with the United States Army. He enjoyed boating and fishing, and he loved spending time with his family and friends. He was always the life of the party.

He was born July 22, 1959, at Batesville, Mississippi, to Marvin Ray Fultz and Barbra Alice Nail. On January 16, 1998, he married Teresa Barks in West Plains, Missouri. He loved spending time at home with his family and grandchildren every chance he could.
He is survived by his wife, Teresa Fultz; four children, Amanda Fultz, Ronnie Fultz, Madison Fultz, and Joshua Johnson and wife, Katrina; seven grandchildren, D’Laynee, Landun, Logan, Raylan, Yuri, Estella, and Daxton; three brothers, Dean Joiner and wife, Margie, Curtas Lauderdale and wife, Evelyn, and Bubba Fultz and wife, Michelle; four sisters, Ryná Smith and husband, Mike, Windy Ramirez and husband, Juan, Bobbie Austin and husband, James, and Amanda Tharpe; his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Melvin and Mary Barks; two brothers-in-law, Melvin Barks Jr. and Roger Carter; one sister-in-law, Melinda O’Malley and husband, Mike; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews; and a special brother by another mother, David Brown and wife, Tammy.
His parents, one brother, Bobby Fultz, and two brothers-in-law, Darrel Jenkins and Phillip Tharpe, preceded him in death.

Mr. Baker passed away at 2:15 a.m., Saturday, March 4, 2023, at West Plains.
He was born October 21, 1985, in Indianapolis. Timmy enjoyed being with his friends and family and loved them more than anything. He brightened up every room he walked into. His girls meant the world to him as well as his dog, Hooch. Timmy loved to play pool, poker, ride side by sides and go fishing with Tony. His contagious laugh will be missed by all, along with his favorite saying “I’m gonna poke you in the eyeball!”
He is survived by his mother, Jackie Baker; his fathers, Kenny Baker and Tony Martin; his two daughters, Haily and Mikah, along with their mother, Felicia Goodman, all of Mammoth Spring, Arkansas; one grandchild on the way; two brothers, Alec Baker and Anthony Martin, both of West Plains; two sisters, Tonya Martin and Chad Robertson, Mountain Grove, Missouri, and Kayla Baker, West Plains, Missouri; his grandparents, Mary Jo Baker (Meemaw), Shirley Wilson (meme), Barbara and Keith Goodman; aunt, Vicki Deatherage; Jessie and Chris Legand; great-uncle and great-aunt, Jerry and Terri Martin; nieces and nephews, Ellaina Jo Martin, Ethan Martin and Easton Martin; and special cousins, Samantha, Corey and Jazzlynn; and many other family and friends.

Mrs. Callahan passed away at 6:56 a.m., Monday, January 9, 2023, at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
She was born March 18, 1937, at Pottersville, Missouri, to Walter Silas Hensley and Vernie Edna Davis Hensley. On September 11, 1957, she was married at West Plains, to Dewayne Beach Callahan, who preceded her in death on October 11, 2020. Before her retirement, Mrs. Callahan had worked as a clerk with Centel Telephone Company. She was an avid reader and enjoyed quilting, but hated to cook. She loved her grandkids and also loved going to flea markets and antiquing. Mrs. Callahan was a member of Smith Chapel Church, West Plains.
She is survived by two children, Tansy Lindeman and husband, Mike, Springdale, Arkansas and Kevin Callahan and wife, Faunda, Springfield, Missouri; six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren and one on the way; one sister, Violet Losh and husband, Steve, Springfield, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, and ten siblings preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Mabel Irene Uhlmann, 98, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 12, 2023, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mrs. Uhlmann passed away at 5:57 p.m., Friday, March 3, 2023, at Cedarhurst Senior Living.
She was born November 25, 1924, at Glenpool, Oklahoma, to Thomas Henderson Rideout and Mary Jane Renfro Rideout. Mabel’s elementary schooling was at Red Ranch School in Howell County, Missouri. She graduated from Koshkonong High School with the Class of 1941. On January 1, 1942, she was married at West Plains, to David Harley Uhlmann, who preceded her in death on June 14, 2001. After their marriage, they resided on their farm in Douglas County. In 1961 the family moved to West Plains, Missouri. Mabel worked for Howell Oregon Electric for nine years as a lightning specialist and demonstrated small appliances new to the market. She designed lighting for several homes and businesses in the area. She later obtained her real estate broker’s license in 1976, retiring at the age of seventy-three years. Mrs. Uhlmann topped annual real estate sales of $1 million for years 1978, 1981 and 1983 and also received title of Realtor of the Year in the West Plains trade area. She met and became friends with many people during her long real estate career. Mabel was a member of the United Freewill Baptist Church and past member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary Post 1828.
She is survived by her two daughters, Patricia Nall and husband, Gerald and Linda Campbell and husband, Daniel; six grandchildren, Dana Cornell, Brent Campbell, Scott Nall, Trish Ruth, Tyla Duckworth and Tammie Call; twelve great-grandchildren, Linnea Cornell, Ava, Jacy, Liam and Hope Campbell, Rebecca Harrison, Courtney Nall, Allison Dorsch, Riley Call, Kinsey Finley, Karstin Duckworth and Cody Menzies; three great-great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. Mabel loved her family dearly and was loved by those who knew her. She was known as an elegant lady. Mabel enjoyed her time at Cedarhurst Senior Living and became friends with many residents and staff.
Her parents, husband, one great-grandson, Aidan Cornell, four brothers, Hurshal, Henry, Herbert and Robert Rideout and four sisters, Gladys Davis, Mildred Hunter, Berta Rideout and Dortha Taylor, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held prior to the service from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m., Sunday, at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Arvel Ray Milton, 86, returned to his Heavenly home on March 5, 2023.
Arvel was born June 27, 1936, in Pomona, Illinois, to Agnes Lipe and Otho Ray Milton. He was an Army veteran in the Korean War, and spent his time working at Inland Steel as an accountant for thirty years. He was a devout member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Arvel loved music, reading, and spending time with his family. He was loved by many, and a friend to everyone.
He is survived by one son, Steven (Jennifer) Milton, Boynton Beach, Florida; one daughter, Anita (Daniel) Wright, West Plains, Missouri; two grandsons, Larry Dean (Kimberly) Milton Jr., Demotte, Indiana, and Billy Ray Milton, Lake Village, Indiana; two granddaughters, Michelle Woodcox, Anna, Illinois, and Mikayla Wright, West Plains, Missouri; and many other friends and family members.
His parents, wife, Shirley Milton, two sons, Alan and Larry Milton, one brother, Donald Milton, and two sisters, Shirley Milton and Jerry Sauerbrunn, preceded him in death.
Burial will be at Lake Village Cemetery, Lake Village, Indiana, under the direction of Sheets Funeral Home, Lowell, Indiana, with local arrangements by Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
