Mrs. Collins passed away at 8:05 a.m., Friday, August 30, 2019 at her home.
She was born October 11, 1936, at Boulder, Colorado, to Harry Peart and Birdie Street Peart. Grace graduated from Willow Springs High School with the Class of 1955. On May 21, 1944, she was married in Howell County, Missouri, to Cecil Eugene “Gene” Collins, who preceded her in death on March 4, 2003. Mrs. Collins was a dairy farmer, working alongside her husband for many years. She enjoyed reading her Bible, word puzzles and quilting. Her family was her life. Mrs. Collins attended First Baptist Church, West Plains, Missouri.
She is survived by two children, Dennis Collins, Pomona, Missouri and Dianna Jones and husband, Darrell, West Plains; three grandchildren, Lane Collins, Jeff Ward and wife, Teresa and Nicki Littrell; nine great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Deloris Brotherton and Rita Roper; and several nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, one daughter, Carla Ann Collins Hall, two brothers, Bobby and Harry Peart and one sister, Dorothy Turner, preceded her in death.

Funeral services for Lawrence “Larry” Everett Bean, 73, Union, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 31, 2019, at Bridges Creek Missionary Baptist Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
Mr. Bean passed away Thursday, August 22, 2019, at Mercy Hospital in Washington, Missouri from complications of cancer.
He was born July 2, 1946 on the family homestead in Bakersfield, Missouri. He graduated from Bakersfield High School in the class of 1964. Lawrence was a welder and a millwright, working for the Chrysler Corporation for thirty-nine years; retiring in 2004. He was a wonderful man who loved his family and took on the role of father figure and grandfather to many of the Bean family children. Lawrence was an avid fisherman and spent many hours on his boat bass fishing. He participated and won many tournaments. He enjoyed hunting with his family and friends, and he has passed down stories and traditions that they will treasure.
Lawrence is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Betty (Nesbitt) Bean; two sons, Jeffery Bean and wife, Angela and Greg Bean; four brothers, Joe Bean and wife, Juanita, Doug Bean and wife, Bonnie, Jerry Bean and wife, Peg and James Bean and wife, Mary; two grandchildren, Shaun Bean and Evelynn Bean; his sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Kay and Harold Woods, Evelyn and David McCracken and Bob and Joyce Nesbitt; along with special nieces and nephews and countless extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Raymond and Alice Faye Bean; three brothers, Gene Bean, Donald Bean and Elbert Bean, one grandson, Ethan Michael Otte, his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jewell Dean Nesbitt and Myrtle Nesbitt and one brother-in-law, James Stowers.

Mr. Wilbanks passed away at 12:15 a.m., Tuesday, August 27, 2019 at his home.
He was born the eighth in a line of siblings long enough to form their own baseball team. Much time was spent on the family farm at Peace Valley. Gary and his brothers knew every square inch of the 141 acres, not far from Eleven Point River, scouting out hunting spots and providing the game that would be deliciously prepared by his mother. Gary enjoyed fatherhood with sons, Shelby and Dusty, passing along his love of fishing and living close to the land. He was a hard worker, a skilled carpenter and also had been employed at Southwest Truck Body (now known as Leonardo DRS) and Judd Enterprises. Even in declining health, he was determined to live life to its fullest and delighted in drives and fishing trips with his cherished buddy, Joe Beach. With good help, Gary was able to remain on the family farm where he was raised until mere days before his passing at the home of his sister, Kathy Rohrer. With gratitude for Gary’s life and spirit, the family entrusts him to the only place more comfortable than the farm, eternal rest with God.
He is survived by two children, Dusty Wilbanks and Shelby Wilbanks and wife, Amanda, all of West Plains; three brothers, Clyde Wilbanks, Jr., Gladstone, Missouri, Jerry Wilbanks and wife, Diane, Ava, Missouri and Orvil Wilbanks and wife, Leslie, West Plains; four sisters, Barbara Decker Barton, West Plains, Alma Fox, Peace Valley, Missouri, Bertha Barton Thomas, West Plains and Kathy Rohrer and husband, Tim, West Plains; several nieces and nephews; and close family friend and fishing buddy, Joe Beach and wife, Holly.
His parents, grandparents, one brother, Ed Wilbanks, one niece, Cassandra Rohrer and three brothers-in-law, Billy Barton, Don Fox and Roy Decker, preceded him in death.

She was born December 27, 1995, at West Plains, Missouri. Katty graduated from West Plains High School in the top 10% of her class; she participated in the A+ program, BETA club, was a cheerleader and played basketball and soccer. She loved the river and spending time with her family, who adored her. She was a free spirit and a wonderful soul. Kathryn was a member of First Baptist Church, West Plains.
She is survived by her parents, Melissa VonAllmen Grendell and Zachary Grendell, Kaenan Bash and Kristi Bash; two brothers, Braydn Bash and Jarad McCormack; one sister, Brittney McCormack; grandparents, Kaye Jean Bash (her Meme), Donnie and Anita Grendell and Bonnie and Joey McGee; and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

Dylan Cleaves passed away Monday, August 19, 2019 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Dickinson, North Dakota.
Dylan was born October 6, 1989, at Stockton, California, to Dennis Milton Cleaves III and Charlotte Lynnette Cleaves. On November 14, 2015, he was married at St. Petersburg, Florida, to Kathleen Anna King. Dylan was a veteran, having served with the United States Marines for four years. He worked as a lead tube tester for oilfield services. Dylan was a Christian and a spiritual person; he was a very loving father, husband and son. He loved spending time with his family and enjoyed fishing, hunting and riding 4wheelers.
He is survived by his wife, Kathleen Cleaves; two sons, Keegan and Konnor and a third son on the way, Kayden; his parents, Dennis and Charlotte Cleaves; one brother, Cody Cleaves and wife, Lindsay; one sister, Ashley Calvert; two nephews, Landen and Liam; one niece, Anzlee; grandparents, Janet Koch, Barbara Haselman and Dennis Cleaves, Jr.; great-grandmother, Dora Markle; many aunts, uncles and cousins; his in-laws and many other family members.

She was born November 21, 1946, at Logansport, Indiana, to John Chase and Gilda Nolte Chase. On May 28, 1966, she was married at White Church, Missouri, to Edwin Frances “Ed” Melvin, who preceded her in death on August 6, 2012. Mrs. Melvin was an x-ray technician at Ozarks Medical Center. She loved to read and enjoyed her family, especially her grandkids. Mrs. Melvin was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church.
She is survived by two children, Eddie Melvin and wife, Laura, West Plains, Missouri and Kerri Dalaviras, Buffalo, Missouri; four grandchildren, Evan Melvin, Madison Melvin, Abby Dalaviras and Thomas Dalaviras; two brothers, Richard Chase, Ogden, Utah and Alan Chase and wife, Sandy, Scottsdale, Arizona; one sister, Patricia Sittig, Scottsdale, Arizona; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Cross passed away at 9:44 a.m., Sunday, August 18, 2019 at his home.
He was born February 3, 1941, at Des Moines, Iowa, to Clare C. Cross and Lela Tool Cross. On August 27, 1959, he was married at Wichita, Kansas, to Marjorie Essex. He was affectionately known as Johnny by his wife of sixty years. Before his retirement, Mr. Cross had worked at Southwest Truck Body (Now known as DRS) and Richman Oil Co. He owned Rocky Top Body Shop and went on to open and operate John’s Service Station Repair. Mr. Cross never met a stranger.
He is survived by his wife, Marjorie Cross, of the family home; three children, Carl “Butch” Cross and wife, Janet, Carthage, Missouri, Tracy Asher and husband, Thomas, Pomona, Missouri and Gary John Cross, II and wife, Nancy, St. Louis, Missouri; six grandchildren, Joshua, Bryan, Jaclyn, Grant, Tommy and Christine; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters, Clela Borysiewicz, Patricia Adey and Cleo Mahoney; brother-in-law, Dave Cockrum; close family friend, Bruce Collins; and several nieces and nephews.

Mr. Rice passed away at 1:15 a.m., Sunday, August 11, 2019 at NHC Healthcare.
He was born October 20, 1924, at Asheville, North Carolina, to Willie Rice and Ella Lowe Rice. Paul attended eight years of school at Moody, Missouri. On August 1, 1953, he was married at Kansas City, Missouri, to Dorothy E. Hake; after the wedding the couple was escorted by friends to Independence, Missouri where Paul pushed his bride around the square. They were married for sixty-six years. Mr. Rice was a veteran, having served with the United States Army. He was a government certified welder and made many metal entrances to cemeteries in the area that will stand as reminders of his work. He was also a saddle maker and a silversmith. Anything a person wanted made of metal, leather or silver, he made it. Paul worked for many years at Southwest Truck Body, now known as DRS. He loved the outdoors and enjoyed his horses, dogs and hunting very much. He especially enjoyed his many friends and never tired of visiting with t hem. George and Jim Willard and Paul were special buddies as they grew up together and enjoyed many good times of lots of hard work. He will be missed very much.
He is survived by his wife, Dorothy Rice, of the family home; three children, Debbie Dye and husband, Allen, Donna Dunnihoo and Dale Rice, all of West Plains; son-in-law, Phil Wilson, Mountain View, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Judy Rice, West Plains; six grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.

He is survived by three children, Robby Collins and wife, Misty, Birch Tree, Missouri, Rodney Roberts, Pottersville, Missouri and Heather Haddock and husband, Gary, Pomona, Missouri; the mother of his children, Ellen Roberts, West Plains; seven grandchildren, Damon Brixey, Daggan Collins, Cody Hawkins, Christopher Reid, Aaron Roberts, Trey Cauthen and Kaylee Cauthen; one brother, Bobby Roberts and wife, Becky, Pottersville; one sister, Marjorie Hensley, Caulfield, Missouri; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Sam passed away at 10:15 a.m., Thursday, August 15, 2019 near Salem and Viola, Arkansas.
He was born November 1, 1995, at West Plains, Missouri, to Bob Kirkland and Cindy Hardcastle Kirkland. Sam graduated from Bakersfield High School with the Class of 2014 and was active in the agriculture classes. He studied welding at the South Central Career Center. He had worked at Ozark Regional Stockyards and was a farmer. Sam was usually the life of the party where ever he went. He was always telling a joke or a story making everyone laugh. Sam never knew a stranger, he would talk to everyone and anyone, and if you wanted to talk about cattle he was your best friend. Sam loved God, loved his family, and friends. He loved being a cattleman and hunting. Sam would go out of his way to help everyone he knew, he always made it a point to stop by and see his old friends and meet new ones at the local county livestock shows. He was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Gospel Hill Church of Christ.

He was born August 5, 1938, at West Plains, Missouri, to Thomas Asberry and Florence Christine Findley Asberry. On January 10, 1981, he was married at Birch Tree, Missouri, to Jean Foulk. Mr. Asberry worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation for over forty-two years as a right-of-way engineer. He enjoyed woodworking and drawing. Mr. Asberry was of the Methodist faith.
He is survived by his wife, Jean Asberry, of the family home; five children, James Michael Asberry and wife, Julie, Springfield, Missouri, Brenda Ann Carrell, Springfield, Missouri, Myrna Lorie Asberry, Columbia, Missouri, Brian Keith Asberry, Springfield, Missouri and Bruce Allen Asberry and wife, Mona, Virginia Beach, Virginia; six grandchildren, Patrick Asberry, Alyssa Ducommun and husband, Bob, Megan Carrell, Joe Arendt, Alexandra Asberry and Ryan Asberry; and one sister, Ruth Ann Cockrum and husband, Leon, Pottersville, Missouri.

Mr. Murrell passed away at 11:23 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2019 at Mercy Hospital, Springfield, Missouri.
He was born June 14, 1932, at Mammoth Spring, Arkansas, to James Robert “Jim” Murrell and Henrietta Dixon Murrell. John Bill graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1950 and received his professional dry cleaning training in Silver Springs, Maryland. Mr. Murrell was a veteran, having served with the United States Navy. On December 9, 1951, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Betty Jo Griffin, who preceded him in death on October 18, 2013. Mr. Murrell was the owner and operator of Murrell’s Cleaners until his retirement in 1994. He was a member of Troop 61 of Boy Scouts and was scout master for over 20 years. He was also an Eagle Scout and helped many boys become an Eagle Scout; he received the Silver Beaver Award, the highest honor within the Boy Scouts, which was voted on by his peers. John Bill was also a member of the West Plains Rotary Club, West Plains Chamber of Commerce and Ozark Mountain Long Rifle Club where he had served as secretary and treasurer for many years. He enjoyed traveling the United States and abroad with his wife, Betty. Mr. Murrell was a lifelong member of First Christian Church of West Plains where he had served as a Deacon, Elder, Trustee, Sunday School teacher and Bible study teacher.
He is survived by three children, Rhea Murrell Edwards, Mountain Home, Arkansas, Johnny Murrell and wife, Charlene, West Plains and James Murrell and wife, Marcella, West Plains; eight grandchildren, Terry Edwards, Jr., and wife, Gina, Robert W. Edwards, Rebecca Jo Ann Edwards and special friend, Robert Jordan, John William “J.W.” Murrell, III and fiancé Alyssa, Ann Elizabeth Murrell, Melissa Marie Bentley and husband, Jason, James Wade Murrell, Jr. and Katy and Benjamin Edwin Murrell; several great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; one brother-in-law, Barry Griffin and wife, Rhonda and their children, Jonathan and Natalie, West Plains; sister-in-law, Carrie Murrell, Atlanta, Georgia; six nieces and one nephew.

She was born May 30, 1941, at Bakersfield, Missouri to Bernie David Hayes and Elma Ethel Stiner Hayes. On July 19, 1957, she was married at West Plains, Missouri to Sammy Lee Grisham, who preceded her in death on June 12, 1994. She enjoyed her flowers, spending time with her family and her dog, Bud. Mrs. Grisham attended Family Life Church.
She is survived by two children, Sammy Gene Grisham and Gary Dean Grisham, both of Dora, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jeremy Grisham, Willard, Missouri, Randall Grisham and wife, Ashley, Niki Luna and husband, Michael, Leslie Rogers and husband. Chaseton, all of Dora, Krista Carter and husband, Weston, West Plains and Michaela Renick, Festus, Missouri; fifteen great-grandchildren, Brayden, Cameron, Gabe, Easton, Kenny and Ella Grisham, Chesney, Kinley and Grady Luna, Garrett, Treyton and Brynlee Rogers, Kimber and Brady Carter and Liam Niswonger; one sister, Betty Jo McGoldrick, West Plains; one sister-in-law, Janice Hayes; one brother-in-law, Lewis Callahan; and many nieces and nephews.
Her parents, husband, five sisters, Rosie Lair, Inez Cotter, Fern Rennells, Pansy Callahan and Laura Downing and five brothers, Cecil, Wayne, Bobby, Jimmy and Junior Hayes, preceded her in death.
Visitation will be held from 6:00 until 8:00p.m. Sunday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be at the Howell Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.
