Graveside services for Laura Melinda Downing, 91, Blue Springs, Missouri, formerly of West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 19, 2014, at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Downing died at 4:59 p.m., Sunday, June 15, 2014, at Waterford Ladies Home, Blue Springs, Missouri, where she resided for the past four and a half years.

She was born December 5, 1922, at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Bernie Hayes and Elma Stiner Hayes. She attended schools at Bakersfield, Missouri, and on August 10, 1940, was married at Bakersfield, Missouri, to Carl Russell Downing, who preceded her in death on May 21, 1993. She was a homemaker and moved to Blue Springs, Missouri eight years ago to be near her family. Mrs. Downing was a member for over fifty years at Victory Family Worship Center, West Plains, Missouri.

She is survived by two children, Harold Keith Downing, wife, Donna, North Kansas City, Missouri and Sharon O’Hara, husband, Lyle, Blue Springs, Missouri; five grandchildren, Deborah Whiles, husband Wayne, Overland Park, Kansas, Cynthia Hochstatter, husband, Mark, Independence, Missouri, Kent Wright, Mission, Kansas, Lesa Watson, husband, Mike, Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Sean Downing, wife, Jessie, Kansas City North, Missouri; eight great-grandchildren, Austin Whiles, Ryan Whiles, Ashley Henson, Michael Henson, Morgan Watson, Ryleigh Watson, Erica Downing and Brooke Downing; and one great-great-grandchild, Tucker Henson; one step-grandchild, Whisper Sparkman; two sisters, Betty Jo McGoldrick, West Plains, Missouri and Janice Grisham, Dora, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Janice Hayes, Caulfield, Missouri; two brothers-in-law, Lewis Callahan, West Plains, Missouri and Rubein Lair, Parkville, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, husband, five brothers, Junior, Cecil, Wayne, Bobby and Jimmy Hayes and four sisters, Pansy Callahan, Rosie Lair, Inez Cotter and Fern Rennels, precede her in death.

Funeral services for Shirley Mae Gunter, 78, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Monday, June 16, 2014, at Ball Church of Christ, Dora, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Shirley died at 5:16 p.m., Wednesday, June 11, 2014, at Ozarks Medical Center.

She was born January 25, 1936 at Dora, Missouri, to Harley Gunter and Radie Howard Gunter. Shirley was married to Glen Craig and to this union four children were born. Before her retirement she worked for Eaton Corporation, now known as Invensys. Shirley was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Curry Street Church of Christ and South 160 Church of Christ.

She is survived by four children, Debbie Trail, husband, Jerry, Denise Heimbach, husband Ray, Donna Davis and Terry Craig, wife, Karen, all of West Plains, Missouri; ten grandchildren; eighteen great-grandchildren; one brother, James Terry Gunter, wife, Peggy, West Plains, Missouri; four sisters, Loeta Barr, Beryldene Finley, Roberta Goss and Diana Heselton, husband, Alan, all of West Plains, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, one infant brother, Edwin and one step-son, David Craig, precede her in death.

Graveside services for Earlene Mae Carrell, El Dorado, California, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 12, 2014, at Mt. Zion Cemetery, South Fork, Missouri, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carrell died at 10:50 p.m., Friday, May 30, 2014, at her home.

She was born December 29, 1935, at Ontario, California, to Earl Joseph Byrne and Elsie Mae Rodgers Byrne. On September 18, 1954, she was married at South San Gabriel, California, to Jack Frank Carrell. Before her retirement, she worked for over twenty years in the nursery department of the United States Forestry service. Mrs. Carrell attended First Baptist Church of West Plains, Missouri.

She is survived by her husband, Jack Carrell, of the family home; two children, Jack Carrell, Jr., wife, Randi, Reeds Port, Oregon and Susan Jennings, Florence, Oregon; two grandchildren, Kayla Carrell and Dustin Jennings; one great-grandchild, Marissa Jennings; one sister, Nadine Akins, husband, Robert, Novato, California; one sister-in-law, Sarah Crane; and one brother-in-law, Bill Carrell, wife, Nelda.

Her parents precede her in death.

Memorial services for Bobby Dean Stewart, 85, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 8:00 a.m., Friday, June 13, 2014 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

Mr. Stewart died 1:06 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2014 at Ozarks Medical Center. He was born November 23, 1928 at Galena, Missouri to Blaine Willard Stewart and Alally Marchbank Stewart.  On April 18, 1989, he was married at St. Charles, Louisiana to Phyllis Nadeau.  Mr. Stewart was a veteran having served with the United States Navy and before his retirement, was employed as a plant manager for Boeing Aircraft.  He was a 32 Degree Mason, a Shriner and enjoyed woodworking, gardening and reading.  Mr. Stewart was a member of the St. Mary’s Catholic Church.

He is survived by his wife, Phyllis Stewart, of the family home; two children, Michael Stewart, wife, Felicitas, Albuquerque, New Mexico and Anne Roy, husband, Danny, Granite Falls, Washington; four step-children; Donna Johnson, Karen Crowley, Paul Jalbert and Kenneth Jalbert; twelve grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.

His parents and one sister precede him in death.

Graveside services for John Denford Farrar and Michael Peanut Farrar, stillborn infant sons of John Farrar and Samantha Hurley, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, June 10, 2014, in Babyland at Howell Memorial Park Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

John and Michael were born at 11:15 p.m., Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Ozarks Medical Center.

Funeral services for Delphia W. Brooks, 91, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Monday, June 9, 2014 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Brooks died 11:15 a.m., Friday, June 6, 2014 in West Vue Nursing Center. He was born August 17, 1922 at Gid, Arkansas to Charles Brooks and Josephine Jones Brooks.  On December 15, 1945, he was married at Gid, Arkansas to Lillian Irene Adkisson who preceded him in death on July 7, 1999.  Mr. Brooks worked at Cloud Oak Flooring and was a well known farmer in the West Plains area.    He enjoyed hunting, his four-wheeler, camping and spending time with his family.  Mr. Brooks was a Charter member of the United Freewill Baptist Church of West Plains.

He is survived by two children, Jimmie Glen Brooks, wife, Cheri, Republic, Missouri and Patricia Lynn Newsom, husband,  Ronnie, West Plains, Missouri; five grandchildren, Jessica Gibson, Taylor Brooks, Hunter Brooks, B. J. Newsom and Amanda Woodyard, husband, Dewayne; three great-grandchildren; Jayke Gibson, Cody Gibson and Cooper Woodyard; one brother, Floyd Brooks, wife, Loretta, Peoria, Illinois; two sisters, Imogene Vanetta, husband,Ray, Mt. Pleasant, Arkansas and Doris Jean Jackson, Melbourne, Arkansas;  many nieces and nephews; and long time special friend, Leverne Hightower.

His parents, wife, six brothers, Ezra, Everett, Elgin, Esbie, Ellis, Lloyd and one infant brother and one sister, Iceaphine Shaver, precede him in death.

Funeral services for Charles Andy Franks, 85, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, June 8, 2014, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Franks died Friday, June 6, 2014, at West Vue Nursing Center.

He was born August 9, 1928, at Viola, Arkansas, to Orvis Talmage Franks and Essie May Roe Franks. He graduated high school at Viola, Arkansas, with the Class of 1946. On May 27, 1950, he was married at Viola, Arkansas, to Maxine Parker. Mr. Franks was a veteran, having served with the United States Air Force. He worked as a Real Estate Broker and Appraiser for over forty years. Mr. Franks was a Master Mason, a member of Mt. Zion Lodge AF & AM and was a Shriner of HOST Shrine. He loved hunting, fishing and playing golf. He proudly provided for his family and helped friends and neighbors. Mr. Franks was a member of the First Baptist Church.

He is survived by his wife, Maxine Franks, of the family home; one son, Roger Franks and wife, Candace, Little Rock, Arkansas; one granddaughter, Ava Franks, Little Rock, Arkansas; two brothers-in-law, Roscoe Parker, West Plains, Missouri and Hubert Mitchell, of the State of Oregon; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents, one brother, Imon Franks and one sister, Janet Mitchell, precede him in death.

Funeral services for Gloria Lorene Carlile, 66, Imperial, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, June 7, 2014, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Carlile died at 8:23 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at St. Joseph’s Hospital, St. Charles, Missouri.

She was born January 18, 1948, at Piggott, Arkansas, to Willie Fleemon Eskew and Gladys Marie Polsgrove Eskew. Mrs. Carlile attended Elementary School at Campbell, Missouri and graduated from Bendle High School, Burton, Michigan, with the Class of 1966. On July 2, 1966, she was married at Flint First Baptist Church, Burton, Michigan, to Kenneth Lee Carlile. In addition to being a homemaker she worked as a church secretary at First Baptist Church, Duran, Michigan, a bailiff for the Cairo Michigan Sheriff’s Department, a nursing assistant at Doctor’s Hospital, Poplar Bluff, Missouri and in 2010 she graduated from Sanford-Brown in St. Louis, Missouri, as a medical coding specialist. Mrs. Carlile was a Christian and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by two children, Adam Carlile, St. Louis, Missouri, and Cyndi Printz and husband, Daniel, Republic, Missouri; two grandchildren, Jeffery Printz and Kaylin Printz; one sister, Carolyn Mallett and husband, Frank, Diamond City, Arkansas; and several nieces and nephews.

Her parents, and one brother, Hubert Eskew, precede her in death.

Funeral services for Betty Laverne Moss Walker, 75, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, June 5, 2014 in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Walker went to be with the Angels at 7:29 p.m., Friday, May 20, 2014 at her home. She was born November 8, 1938 at Elijah, Missouri to Joseph Ray Moss and Dorothy Willa Collins Moss.  She attended the Oak Mound School and the Bakersfield High School and on March 30, 1956, was married at Pottersville, Missouri to Gene Harl Walker by Reverend Neal Reich of Pottersville. Mrs. Walker attended Davis Creek Church for fifty-one years, serving as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, song leader, secretary, and any other position where she was needed. Her greatest desire would be to see each and every one of you in Heaven one day.

She is survived by her husband, Gene Walker, of the family home; three daughters, Teresa Pruiett, West Plains, Missouri, Diane Wilbanks, husband, Jerry, Ava, Missouri and Karen Nye, husband, Lynn,Danville, Iowa; seven grandchildren, Gwendy Wadkins, husband, Tim, Jessica Bates, husband, Brian, Jason Pruiett, Mandy Sympson, husband, David, Missy Halbert, husband, Jeff, Jennifer Wilbanks, and Krista Carter, husband, Weston; thirteen great-grandchildren; one sister, Faye Judd, husband, Bill; two brothers-in-law, Gary Walker, wife, Mary and Jolly Morgan; and many other relatives and friends.

Her parents, an infant son, Tommy Wayne, and one sister, Beulah Shipley, precede her in death.

Funeral services for Ruth Ellen Crites, 66, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Thursday, June 5, 2014, at Gospel Hill Church of Christ, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Crites died at 10:20 a.m., Monday, June 2, 2014, at Ozarks Medical Center.

She was born October 14, 1947, at Mansfield, Missouri, to John Samuel Marcum and Violet Wood Marcum. She graduated from Willow Springs High School with the Class of 1965. On May 23, 1965, she was married at Pomona, Missouri, to Robert Crites. Mrs. Crites was a long time co-owner of Dairy Princess Restaurant. She loved to cook and enjoyed attending ball games to support her grandchildren. Mrs. Crites was a member of the Church of Christ and attended Gospel Hill Church of Christ.

She is survived by her husband, Robert “Bob” Crites, of the family home; two children, Rhonda Meyer, husband, Marc, Overland Park, Kansas and Robbie Crites, wife, Lynn, West Plains, Missouri; four grandchildren, Lindsay Meyer , Jack Meyer, Bo Crites and Coy Crites; three brothers, George Marcum, Pomona, Missouri, Alvan Marcum, wife, Rose, Willow Springs, Missouri and Frank Marcum, wife, Sue, Duncan, Oklahoma; two sisters, Dolores Mayfield, husband, Ray, Monroe, Louisiana and Rosie Heinzmann, husband, Bob, Washington, Illinois; special friend, Tammy Woodworth; and many nieces and nephews.

Her parents, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jack and Mildred Crites, three brothers, Carl, Kenneth and Loren Marcum and one sister, Margaret Butler, precede her in death.

Funeral services for Norma Jacqueline Laurin, 87, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, under  the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Laurin went to be with the Lord and his family Friday, May 30, 2014, at West Vue Nursing Center.

She was born October 24, 1926, at Cornwall, Ontario, Canada, to Alfred Chouinard and Mathilda Belanger Chouinard.  Mrs. Laurin graduated from High School at the age of sixteen and then graduated from Business College.  After graduating, she worked as a secretary at a local company in Cornwall.  On March 27, 1946, she married Florian “Ryan” Laurin.  Norma continued working until the upcoming arrival of her first child.  Five years later, with three children, Norma and Ryan decided to move to the United States, where they built and operated dry cleaning plants in Clearwater and Largo, Florida.  It wasn’t easy at that time to come to the United States to live; they had to be self sufficient for one year.  In 1962 Norma received her Certificate of Naturalization.  She spoke French and English fluently.  They lived in Florida for the next fifteen years before moving to West Plains, Missouri.  Later in life and ten years after the youngest child was born, Norma gave birth to her fourth child.  She was very ambitious; while raising four children and working with Ryan in the dry cleaning business, she also became a real estate agent in Florida.  After their move to West Plains, she obtained her Missouri Real Estate Agent and Broker’s license.  She owned and operated Laurin Realty.  Norma worked in the real estate industry for over forty years before her retirement.  She was a founding member of the West Plains Board of Realtors, first woman in Howell County to be a board member of the Chamber of Commerce,  one of the first women to be a member of the Rotary Club and served on the board of directors at Missouri Southern Bank, now known as Wood & Huston Bank.  She enjoyed time spent with her family and friends, playing cards, traveling, reading, horses, horse racing and boating.  Mrs. Laurin was a devoted Catholic and was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church during her time living in West Plains.

She is survived by her daughters, Suzanne Crownover and husband, Darrell, Lakeview, Arkansas, Linell Raulerson and husband, David, Micanopy, Florida and Hallie Laurin and special friend, Randy, West Plains, Missouri; five grandchildren, Greg Ransom, Rhonda Yunis, Michelle Hall, Amy Griffin and Darren Raulerson; eleven great-grandchildren; and several step-great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews living in Canada.

Her parents,  husband, son, Robin Laurin, grandson, Michael Ransom and many brothers and sisters, precede her in death.

Mrs. Laurin will lie in state at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home from 4:00 p.m., Tuesday until 11:00 a.m., Wednesday.  The family will receive their friends at St. Mary’s Catholic Church beginning at 1:00 p.m., Wednesday.  Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery.  Memorial Contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association or St. Mary’s Catholic Church, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Walter James Pierce, 90, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014, in the Rose Chapel at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Pierce died at 7:05 p.m., Sunday, May 25, 2014, at Brooke Haven Health Care.

He was born April 15, 1924, at Witcker, Pennsylvania, to Walter Pierce and Elizabeth Tomco Pierce. On July 1, 1949, he was married at Overland, Missouri, to Birdiemae Burch, who preceded him in death on November 4, 2012. Mr. Pierce was a veteran, having served in the United States Navy. He was an Engineer with Leonard’s Metal Company, and retired after thirty-five years. Mr. Pierce was a Christian.

He is survived by his nieces and nephews, Sharon and Richard Eaves, Cedar Hill, Missouri, Ron and Joyce Burch, Deland, Florida, Bill and Sally Burch, St. Charles, Missouri and Linda Wilkens, Austin, Texas.

His parents, wife and sister-in-law, Alice Burch, precede him in death.

Mr. Pierce will lie in state from 4:00 p.m., Friday, until service time at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Burial will be in the Oak Lawn Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Robert William Holzapfel, 80, Caulfield, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, May 31, 2014, at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Holzapfel passed away peacefully on May 16, 2014, at Ozarks Medical Center, after a short battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife, Arleen McDaniel Holzapfel, Caulfield, Missouri; his children, Linda Holzapfel Lindsey and husband, Ronald and Frankie Holzapfel Truesdell and husband, Baron, all of McKinney, Texas and Richard Holzapfel and wife, Jeni, Provo, Utah; fourteen grandchildren; fourteen great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and seventeen nephews and nieces.

Bob loved as his own, his brothers’ children, Pat Holzapfel Impagliatelli, Alice Holzapfel Evans, George Holzapfel, Carolyn Holzapfel Payne, Bill Holzapfel (deceased), Fred Holzapfel and Art Holzapfel.

His father, mother, stepmother, and two older brothers, Art and George Holzapfel preceded him in death.

He was born October 2, 1933, at Kansas City, Missouri, to Arthur and Norma Stein Holzapfel. He lost his mother when he was three years old. Bob’s father eventually married Lamberta Wachter, who loved him and raised him.

Bob attended William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri and Missouri University in Columbia, Missouri. He enlisted in the United States Navy in 1954. He married Arleen McDaniel on November 20, 1959, at Blackfoot, Idaho.

An early graduate of the United States Navy Nuclear Power School at Arco, Idaho in 1960, Bob was immediately assigned to the first operating nuclear submarine in the Pacific, USS Swordfish (SSN 579). Later, he served at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, Kittery, Maine; the Small Craft Repair Facility, Da Nang, Vietnam; the United States Naval Station, Point Loma, California; and the United States submarine base, Holy Loch, Scotland. Bob retired as a lieutenant commander in 1975 after twenty-one years of dedicated service to his country.

He and Arleen then moved to south-central Missouri where they have lived, raising cattle on their farm. During this second career, Bob was involved with many civic organizations and causes, including the Twin Lakes Base of the Submarine Veterans group. He helped organize the Ozark County Ambulance District. The American Red Cross recently awarded him a 17-gallon blood-donation pin.

Completely honest and trustworthy, Bob lived an admirable life because he was a modest man who treated people with respect and concern. Countless family members, friends and neighbors will remember him as a generous man, a “Good Samaritan” to the people he met along the way during his mortal journey.

Visitation will be held from 7:00 until 8:00 p.m., Friday, May 30 at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Mr. Holzapfel will lie in state at the Langston Street Chapel until service time. Interment will be at the Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park, 1711 South Camp Williams Road, Bluffdale, Utah, on Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at 11:00 a.m. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital or a charity of choice, and may be left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Elmer Bryan, 73, Pomona, Missouri, will be held at 2:00 p.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at the Langston Street Chapel of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Bryan died at 4:17 p.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014, at his home.

He was born July 29, 1940, at Pomona, Missouri, to Wayne Bryan and Jessie Merrett Bryan. He graduated from Willow Springs High School with the Class of 1958 and on April 27, 1961, he was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Ann Cochran. He retired from Doss & Harper Stone Co., after forty-five years. He was the former president of Mackey Cemetery and was a former member of the Pomona Fire Board. Mr. Bryan was a Christian.

He is survived by his wife, Ann Bryan, of the family home; two children, Jim Bryan, Pomona, Missouri and Glenda Shertz and husband, Richie, Pomona, Missouri; four grandchildren, Briana, Emily, Kurt and Jimalee; five great-grandchildren, Colt, Alexis, Kamren, Austyn and Ashlyn; one brother, Ronnie Bryan, wife, Bonnie, Pomona, Missouri; two sisters, Jo Corman, Pomona, Missouri and Betty Holman-Adams and husband, Fred, Kansas City, Missouri; and several nieces and nephews.

His parents precede him in death.

Graveside services for Dorval Lee Brotherton, 84, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 29, 2014 at Dripping Springs Cemetery, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mr. Brotherton died 7:40 p.m., Friday, May 23, 2014 at Ozarks Medical Center.

He was born on September 24, 1929 near White Church, Missouri to Frank Brotherton and Hazel Thompson Brotherton.   He attended West Plains High School graduating with the Class of 1947; and in 1947, he was married to Anna Lou Demoise to which two children were born, Sandra and Tracy.  On December 12, 2008, he was married at Las Vegas, Nevada to Patsy Laxton Deatherage.    In 1947, he joined the United States Navy and following his tour of duty, made his home in California.  After his retirement, he returned to Missouri to the hills that he loved.  Mr. Brotherton enjoyed traveling, driving his semi-trucks, hunting, fishing, country music and working on anything mechanical.  Also, for a period of time, he owned and operated a farm east of West Plains.  Mr. Brotherton was baptized in 2001 and attended the Central Church of Christ.

He is survived by two children, Sandra Lynn Patch and husband, Mike, Green Valley, Arizona and Tracy Brotherton and wife, Stephanie, Phoenix, Arizona; four grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; one sister, Shirley Casey and husband, Pat, Millington, Tennessee; and his good friend, Tom Mincher and wife, Belinda, West Plains, Missouri.

His grandparents, parents and wives, preceded him in death.   Mr. Brotherton will lie in state from 4:00 until 9:00 p.m., Wednesday at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Dripping Springs Cemetery and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Memorial services for Kay Wendell (Kasey) Nelson, 78, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 7:00 p.m., Wednesday May 28, 2014 at the Mt. Zion Lodge A.F. & A.M. #327, West Plains.

Mr. Nelson died 5:50 p.m., Friday, May 23,2014 at the Ozarks Medical Center. He was born May 28, 1935 at Chariton, Iowa to Charles Wendell Nelson and Clara Leona Anderson Nelson.  He attended the St. Louis College of Pharmacy, where he met Virgie Huffman, and they were married at Bismarck, Missouri on December 28, 1955. Kasey was a veteran having served in the United States Navy as a hospital corpsman. He worked for Rexall Drug in the Chicago area for a time, before his career and retirement, from sales with General Electric, in the lighting division. That career took him to Minnesota and Colorado, before settling back in the Ozarks. He enjoyed travel, fishing, water skiing, bowling, golf, horseback riding, leather and woodworking, and coaching his wife’s softball team. Mostly, he loved his family, and was a devoted husband and father. He was proud to be a Mason for over fifty years and a member of the York Rite, Scottish Rite and the Shrine. He was Past Master of Mt. Zion Lodge A.F. & A.M. #327, West Plains, and Past Rajah of the local HOST Shrine Club.    Mr. Nelson was a member of the Methodist faith.

He is survived by his wife, Virgie Nelson, of the family home; three daughters, Sue L. DuClos, husband, Rick, West Plains, Missouri, Teri Covington, husband, Steve, Moody, Missouri and Marilyn Bartlett, husband, Lee, Parker, Colorado; three grandchildren, Neysa Simpson, husband, Scott, Travis Bartlett and Michelle Bartlett; two great-grandchildren, Tyler Simpson and Jared Simpson; and one brother, Charles Vernon Nelson, wife, Carol, Salem, Arkansas and their daughter, Connie, Little Rock, Arkansas. His parents preceded him in death.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Zion A.F. & A.M., #327 Building Fund and left at Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Funeral services for Carrie Lyn Womack, 44, West Plains, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 27, 2014, at First United Methodist Church, under the direction of Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Womack died at 4:15 a.m., Thursday, May 22, 2014, at her home.

She was born June 26, 1969, at West Plains, Missouri, to Gale Thompson and Tanga Burk Thompson. She graduated from West Plains High School with the Class of 1987; she was a member of the First State Championship Zizzer Girls Cross Country Team and was an All-State Runner in track. She obtained her Associate degree at Missouri State University. On July 1, 1989, she was married at West Plains, Missouri, to Scott Womack.  She worked as a Clinic Coordinator for Riverways Support Services. She was a board member of the Missouri Council of In-Home Service and chairman of the Missouri Alliance for Home Care Awards Committee.   Carrie was a very loving wife, mom, daughter and friend, who touched and inspired many people throughout her life.  She loved being a mom and following her boys athletic activities. She enjoyed scrapbooking, crossword puzzles, flowers and being with her family. Mrs. Womack was a devoted Christian and was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

She is survived by her husband, Scott Womack, of the family home; two sons, Sam Womack and Jacob Womack, both of West Plains; her parents, Gale and Tanga Thompson, West Plains; one brother, Christopher “Buck” Thompson and wife, Billiejean, West Plains; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Jerry and Janet Womack, West Plains; two sisters-in-law, Frankie Harrill-Jones, husband, David and Angie Holloway, husband, Jason, all of West Plains; aunts and uncles, Tommy and June Thompson, Bob and Sonja Boudreau, David Smith, Dale and Carolyn Smith and Danny and Alice Smith, all of West Plains, Missouri; great-aunt, Hazel Bradley, Peace Valley, Missouri; and several cousins, nieces, nephews and one great-nephew.

Her grandparents, Russell and Helen Thompson, Ross Burk, Pollyanna Burk Claibourne, Cal Claibourne, Frank and Lottie Smith and E. N. and Lottie Womack, precede her in death.

The family would like to thank Dr. Charles Morgan and the oncology department for many years of care and support throughout Carrie’s courageous battle.

He was born June 13, 1975, at West Plains, Missouri, to Jerry L. Richardson and Vicki M. Hodgson Richardson.

He is survived by his parents, Jerry and Vicky Richardson, Bakersfield, Missouri; one sister, Erin Bonham, husband, Matt, Bakersfield, Missouri; grandmother, Bonnie Hodgson, Udall, Missouri; four nieces and nephews, Clora Aleese “Alee” Bonham, Cooper Bonham, Dylan Bonham and Addison Bonham; many aunts, uncles and cousins; and special friend, Liberty Long Sleiter.

His grandfather, Robert E. Lee Hodgson, grandmother, Bertha Lou Richardson, uncle, James Richardson, aunt, Debbie Richardson and three cousins, Amy Pemberton, Danny Badell and Sonja Richardson, precede him in death.

Mr. Sanders died at 12:40 p.m., Monday, May 12, 2014, at St. Paul, Minnesota.

Bradley was the son of Sharon and Cory Bassham. He was born March 29, 1982, at West Plains, Missouri and graduated from Bakersfield High School with the Class of 2000. On July 17, 2007, he was married at Ocho Rios, Jamaica, to Stephanie Lester and to this union two beautiful boys were born, Hayden Reece Sanders and Harlen Reed Sanders. Brad was such a loving son, husband and a wonderful father to his beautiful sons. He was deeply loved by all of his family and friends. He had a great sense of humor and could make anyone laugh. He was soft hearted, but would stand up for what he believed in; and was an honest, caring and generous man. Brad enjoyed every part of the outdoors from fishing and hunting to simply just being outside with his boys. He enjoyed music and was a great guitar player. Brad was his son’s hero; they adored their daddy. He was loved much and will be missed very much.

He is survived by his wife, Stephanie Sanders, of the family home; two children, Hayden Reece Sanders and Harlen Reed Sanders, both of the family home; his parents, Sharon and Cory Bassham; two sisters, Lauren Sanders and Lindsey Bassham, both of West Plains, Missouri; one brother, Garrett Bassham, West Plains, Missouri; grandparents, Nelson and Kay Bassham, Moko, Arkansas; father-in-law and mother-in-law, John and Terena Lester, Bakersfield, Missouri; brother-in-law, Troy Lester and wife, Lia, Bakersfield, Missouri; and many other family and friends .

His grandparents Nelson and Donna Collins precede him in death.

Funeral services for Helen Lucille Marcum, 77, Pomona, Missouri, will be held at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, May 21, 2014 in the Rose Chapel, Robertson-Drago Funeral Home.

Mrs. Marcum died 8:46 p.m., Friday, May 16, 2014 at Ozarks Medical Center.

She was born March 5, 1937 at Pottersville, Missouri to Russell Lloyd Woods and Edna Ruth Lee Woods Sooter.   On March 5, 1965, she was married at Dixon, Illinois to George Marcum.   Mrs. Marcum and husband, George, owned and managed several businesses in the West Plains area including M & S Shake & Burger, Marcum’s Truck Stop, Junction 14 Truck Stop and Hillbilly Junction. For many years, she had also worked at Midwest Truck Stop. Mrs. Marcum loved her family and treated everyone else like family; she enjoyed cooking, reading, fishing and gardening. She was a Christian with her membership at the Immanuel Southern Baptist Church, Pomona, Missouri.

She is survived by her husband, George Marcum, of the family home; two sons, George F. Marcum, wife, Cathy, Cabool, Missouri and John Marcum, wife, Wonda, Pomona, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Michael C. Marcum and fiancée, Melissa, Indianapolis, Indiana, Rachel, Preston and Trinity Vasek, Cabool, Missouri, Scott Martin, Pomona, Missouri, Evan Chaffin, wife, Felicity, Indianapolis, Indiana, and Michael and Susie Rodman, Pomona, Missouri; and eleven great-grandchildren, Leah, Jacob, Damion, Kayla, Jayden, Nathan, Caleb, Memphis, Aayden, Vincent and Kirsten.

Her parents, step-father, Ed Sooter, who raised her, and one infant brother, precede her in death.
